Parents, What’s In YOUR Top 5?

I‘m curious to see what’s on your list of 5 things you could not live without in the early years of parenting.  Here’s mine in no particular order:

LON 250x250 2009SummerSale1 Parents, Whats In YOUR Top 5?

1.  The Learning Tower:   La Jolla Girl has always been taller than most so when she was about 14 months old and could stand solidly, I bought this for her.  She still uses it to this day and it’s become a permanent fixture in my kitchen.  It prevents her from clutching my leg and trying to see what’s going on when I’m trying to get food on the table.  I am able to assess how much easier this makes my life because we didn’t have one in our Hong Kong apartment, and it was much harder to get anything done in the kitchen.

2.  Skip Hop Pronto Diaper Changer Kit Parents, Whats In YOUR Top 5?:  Mine was pink and from Pottery Barn Kids, though I don’t think that they sell them anymore. You can find them elsewhere like Amazon and Land of Nod, Travel Folding Changer Kit for Babies – Folding Changer (Black) Folded: 11.  Totally necessary to protect La Jolla Girl from gross airplane changing tables and the like.

3.  Ergo carrier:  Let’s see, before I found the Ergo we blasted through the 2 other popular brands.  La Jolla Girl would only ride in the Ergo as she got a little bit bigger.  A total necessity for urban living and easier on my back.

4. Boudreauxs Butt Paste Parents, Whats In YOUR Top 5?:  I probably don’t need to get into too many details about why I needed this.  icon smile Parents, Whats In YOUR Top 5? I used to pay a premium to have it sent to Hong Kong when we were living there.  Nothing works as well.

5.  Stokke Tripp Trapp: Mine is red but they have other colors like this one Stokke Beech Baby High Chair – Tripp Trapp(r) High Chair (Green) 19: So, so easy to clean, relative to others. Land of Nod has them in multiple colors. I can’t recommend this product enough.

I could not live without:

1. bordeaux’s butt paste (like you, this worked the best!)
2. pack n’ play (graco) with the basinet & changing table on top – I used it in the living room as a second “baby station” away from the bedroom.
3. huggies shea butter wipes (the yellow box), the good smell made changing diapers a little more bearable.
4. the book “Babywise”- I know it has met some criticism, but man it worked for me! By 2 months by daughter was sleeping 10 hrs thru the night!
5. My husband – he was my champion/my supporter in every way!

My must haves:
1. Sunscreen for myself and the kids
2. Bibagogo travel feeding bib (stain-resistant and has a feeding spoon and 2 facecloths hidden in the back of it) – long enough for car eating and stroller snacking with drippy ice-cream. (If forget diaper change pad, can use bibagogo if need)
3. Baby tylenol
4. Burts’ Bees lipgloss
5. Snack food (fruit snacks, cheerios etc.) for those moments waiting in line up at grocery store etc.
