If you’re not familiar with www.qlubb.com, you definitely should be. Qlubb was designed by a mom who was tired of miscommunication and lack of organization when it came to her children’s activities. She was definitely not alone because Qlubb launched it’s free service last September and already has 20,000 users!
Qlubb allows you to set up a private secure website for any group be it book club, play groups, sports, church, etc. Qlubb’s services are free of charge! It takes about 10 seconds to create a group. Not a member of a group? Don’t fret! I’ve read about people that use Qlubb for personal time management needs as well. Qlubb is a great way to manage your household and create a family calendar.
I have used Yahoo Groups in the past but Qlubb takes it much further. Your Qlubb group has it’s own:
- Private secure website
- Calendar to organize events
- Automatic event/task reminders
- Shared sign up sheets
- Group signups and RSVPs
- File/photo sharing and more!
Once you’ve set up your group website, give the name to the other members who then just need to input their email and use the shared group password. That’s it! No need for everyone to individually go through a sign up process. People that use Qlubb for personal time management seem to rave about the calendar feature and the ability to email themselves reminders. I certainly need the latter which is why I signed up. I’m just getting started and am using it as a family calendar. Now La Jolla Dad won’t be asking “when is xyz?” and ” what is going on today?” because he can log onto Qlubb from any computer to see the calendar and he can input his own schedule. I can write him notes and send email reminders.
I like that once you log onto Qlubb, everything you need is right there on the home page as seen below. If you log on to Qlubb’s demo, they have created a sample group called “Smith”. I took a screen shot so you can see that everything you need is right there. They’ve made this very user friendly.

If you were to scroll down further on the demo Smith group site (below this screen shot), you’d also see space for members to leave comments, latest activities and updates to the group, and a space for useful recommendations that on this group page functions a little bit like a classifieds section of the newspaper. Go to the demo and check it out.
Qlubb is the perfect solution for busy parents. I can see how you’d eliminate a lot of back and forth phone calls and emails trying to coordinate events or even a simple playgroup. Think of all the time you’ll save! Imagine cutting out all those annoying logistics of what day works for this and that and who’s bringing what. You can relax, enjoy your group more and have access to your group website anywhere that you have internet access. And it’s all for free!
Also, think about all the post it notes, memos and other paper that you won’t have a need for if you use Qlubb. La Jolla Mom is a big fan of going green!
Speaking of going green, to celebrate the Back to School season, Qlubb has partnered with citizenpip to offer a giveaway of one stylish citizenpip lunch kit to a lucky La Jolla Mom reader! citizenpip helps people of all ages to go green by creating “muck free” (no lead, BPA, PVC, or phthalates) reusable lunch kits! I really like the idea of shared sign up sheets. Passing them around is always such a hassle.

I would use Qlubb to organize my mom 2 mom toddler playgroup. I like that it is a private secure network that you can put photos on and have a calendar so you can keep track of meetings and playtimes.

Thanks for the great review!
Hi, just had to leave a note for you to say what a beautiful blog you have here. Interesting, creative posts and great pictures as well – perfect ! Thank you for sharing them and best wishes…
.-= Elise´s last blog ..Melissa Hamilton interviewed for "Cupcakes & conversation …" =-.
I like the group invites and online RSVP’s — I would use this service for birthday parties!
.-= Katie´s last blog ..Hmph, not doing so well from the knees down. =-.
I like that it sends out schedule reminders. This would be great for our school meetings…then I don’t have to email everyone reminding them to come!
This would great for my book group, because as it stands now, I spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to organize the schedule.
.-= Karen´s last blog ..A New Dinnertime Favorite =-.
I think my church could benefit from Qlubb.
I would use this for the adoption group that I coordinate. I like that it is private, but has lots of features like automatic reminders (what a time saver) and shared sign-up lists. Right now i have everything on multiple files, this would make it all so easy and convenient. And since we are a volunteer organization, the fact that it is free is key!
The photo sharing is awesome! And I like that he website is public but the group page/calendar is private. We have a craft club that meets at members’ houses and I hate having our addresses out there on a yahoo group that anyone could join and see.

My husband and I run the go-cart track and organization for our area. I can see Qlubb being a great way to keep everyone informed of what’s happening, when races are scheduled and when we have practice nights. I think it would keep me organized too!

Oh wow — I just signed up my PTO for a similar site called cMomgo but … it doesn’t have a lot of the features that this one does … like the ability to email reminders and such. I’m thinking I may need to move the PTO over to a different site. If only I’d seen this a week ago!!

i would use it for my raok club
I like that Qlubb is easy to setup and can be used for anyone with group that wants to keep up-to-date.
I would use Qlubb for my Sons Fall Ball (baseball) team. This would better organize the team practices, games and when kids cant play due to illness or other conflicts can keep everyone informed.
Great way to be organized(which I am not )
follow blog through Google Friends
I love the Qlubb is free! A lot of sites charge for those services. I would use it if/when I organize a group.
I like how many different sizes of containers there are. Makes it easier to pack efficiently. I’d use this for my daughter’s lunches. Her backpack is totally stuffed, so she usually has squashed food for lunch.

I like that it includes the reuable containers that FIT in the bag. Using tupperware or something similar can over fill a lunch bag. I would use these for school lunches.
I like that it is a secure site and can be private use or a group of friends/ family who use it. Great idea !

If we know soon what base my husband, a military contractor will be at, I would start an older moms of babies/toddlers group – or I’d like to and I’d use it for that.
I love the group calendar.. I’d use it for my mom group
automatic reminders for members, so easy!
I think my art club could benefit from this.
I love that it organizes lists and makes it easy to update items which is better than e-mail chains that we rely on.
