As I type this, I’m sitting at the Pannikin, La Jolla trying to resist ordering a second breakfast. I haven’t been here in a while and forgot how good everything looks and smells. If I look up from this computer, I have a view of the dessert case which is also calling my name.
All over this part of Girard are “No Parking” signs that warn residents the street will be closed this weekend for the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival. I’ve been meaning to mention this for some time.
The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival will feature live music and entertainment, gourmet food vendors, a garden featuring wine and beer from the finest local wineries and breweries, a silent auction, and a children’s art center. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
Proceeds benefit La Jolla, Torrey Pines and Birdrock Elementary schools. La Jolla Girl will attend Birdrock Elementary in a few years. We’re going on Saturday. The hours on both days are between 9am and 5pm. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under, and free for children 2 and under. Tickets can be bought on the day or in advance via one of these elementary schools. There will be valet parking for $10, shuttles from UCSD (see website for details) or of course, you may self park.
Come to La Jolla this weekend! The Open Aire Market at La Jolla Elementary is also on Sunday so you can pick up food for the week, while you’re at it. La Jolla Elementary is also on upper Girard right where the festivities will be.
