I‘m a little bit perplexed because I thought the BevMo 5 cent sale ended on Monday but online, it seems to still be going. I happen to be on a Shiraz kick lately. This bottle is worth checking out especially if you locate it at your BevMo and it’s still on sale. It’s regular price is $11.99 so during the 5 cent sale when you get the second bottle for 5 cents, that’s a whopping $6.02 per bottle. That’s a steal.
This fabulous South Australian Shiraz is made at Paringa winery, roughly 3 hours from Adelaide. It’s one of the most award winning wineries in Australia with this Shiraz winning the gold medal at the 2010 Sydney Royal Wine Show. Let’s face it, that’s pretty awesome because there is a ton of Shiraz to compete against in Australia. I also read that Paringa strives to make the best $10 wines on the planet, which I totally appreciate.
Winemakers Notes: “The bouquet of the wine has spicy blackberry fruit combined with the subtle but distinctive aromatics of Viognier, on the palate the wine has medium bodied plum/blackberry fruit flavors and soft grained tannins. A wine that can be used for current drinking but will reward short term cellaring”
Rating:
High rating because of value for 5 cent sale price. It’s phenomenal. Delicious, smooth and I have served it to guests with BBQ steak. I’d buy it full price too. Paringa Shiraz is sold out online but check your local BevMo.
