Bacon makes everything better, even brownies. This recipe is courtesy of Recipes Every Man Should Know, a fabulous new book by San Diego Food Blogger, Susan Russo. A man can certainly handle making this divine dessert.
I went to the grocery store and bought the bacon brownie ingredients below. Whipped cream is not pictured, I must have tossed it in the fridge already. I splurged for thick cut bacon and cooked it until super crispy.
Making brownies out of a box is easy, I haven’t done it in ages. Add chopped bacon.
Bake according to box directions. Splash a generous amount of caramel sauce on top, whipped cream and bacon sprinkles. As Susan says, “Await praise.” These are SO good.
For organized directions, you’ll have to pick up a copy of the book. Here’s what else I like about Recipes Every Man Should Know. There are tips regarding tools you should have in your kitchen, carving a turkey, a hangover cure, and an explanation of cooking terms. The recipes are simple, well explained, and have serious flair. They span from grilled vegetables to jambalaya to delicious pancakes. I would be extremely impressed if anyone cooked these dishes for me.
This is a perfect gift for a college graduate, single guy or any guy who wants to learn how to cook. I like the book too! You could whip up a killer Super Bowl party with the Beer, Bacon and Bar chapter. Think Bacon Guacamole! Pick up a copy on Amazon. Also, check out Susan at Food Blogga.

I am definitely letting my readers know about these! The boys in my house love bacon and brownies! Do you think it would help us get over these colds?
My sister came into town recently and made chocolate covered bacon for my boys. Sounded gross…but it was surprisingly yummy! I think I’ll have to give this recipe a try!
Really?? Bacon?? I’m just not sure about that. lol
Yes, Really!! lol
I thought the same thing, then co-worker brought in Bacon Brownies for a bake sale fundraiser at school. They sold like hotcakes and when I asked for the recipe (as my hubby loved them) she said it was an old family recipe and WOULD NOT reveal it to us.
But, thank goodness for online research. ha ha

Thanks for the great review, Katie! These are outrageously addictive, aren’t they? I made them for a tail gate and the guys loved them!
