How To Tell If Your Lululemon Pants Are Too Tight

Don’t laugh. I firmly believe that moms all over the country are single-handedly keeping Lululemon in business. If you’re just dropping off the kids wearing yoga or running pants, this advice may not apply. However, if you are actually going to work out, listen up.

I have a pair of Wunder Under pants that I do not like wearing to yoga or boot camp. The reason is that if I bend over, they the become a little bit see-through. I bought the size that fit best in the dressing room, which was a big mistake, and I hear I’m not the only one who makes it.

Lululemon Pant Fit Expert Rule Of Thumb

On my last visit to Lululemon La Jolla, I was having trouble selecting a style of pants, because I thought I should branch out into something I don’t own. I talked about my see-through concerns and the pant fit expert said this is how you determine if your pants are the right size.

Try pants on in good light. The dressing rooms don’t always provide the best light so be brave and go out to the main mirror. Squat like a frog, as low as you can go. Look at your rear in the mirror. If you can see the white Lululemon tag through the pants, or anything else, your pants are too tight. Go up a size or two, even if the length isn’t quite right. Lululemon can alter the length for you.

We all hate wearing a size larger than we have to, but spare your fellow workout mates the discomfort of seeing what’s not supposed to be seen. Because of the way I’m built, for nothing to be seen, I really have to wear a size 10 Wunder Under versus a size 6. In the end, I decided to stick with my beloved Groove pants which are looser fitting around the hips and thighs.

If you’re wondering, the most popular pair of pants among the Lululemon La Jolla staff right now is the Tadasana pant.

I tried them on and thought they made my thighs look enormous. However, the pant fit expert suggested it is okay to buy pants that are out of my comfort zone, because I would get used to them. I can see that.

Collections Are Meant To Be Mixed And Matched

The other interesting tidbit I learned was that each Lululemon collection is meant to be mixed and matched. I bought a darling pink and white striped jacket and wanted the pink workout shirt to match. The sales associate agreed that the top was too much pink for me. She handed me the same top in purple and said, so what if it doesn’t match perfectly. She was totally right.

Now, go check your pants.

As an update, Lululemon has just announced a massive recall on these see through pants. Which is really really bad news for my website http://www.seekpeekyoga.com.

OK…seriously, I’m not a lurker. Just couldn’t pass up the change to tease.

But the part about Lulu recall is all true. Expect massive shortages. And perhaps those anti-stink pants you’re wearing today while doing your downward facing dog will be a collectors item tomorrow.

I know I’ve been collecting them.

    Again! kidding!

    or am I????

  2. On my my last two pairs of Lululemon, I went up a size and I love them for drop-off or casual days, but when I work out in them they slip down and show my booty so I am constantly yanking them up. I need a solution to this dilemma! : )

    • I like the still pants (which right now are slimmer and called will pants) because they have a drawstring! I have not yet had the yanking dilemma. I wonder what their answer to that would be.
