I love a great wine at a bargain price (who doesn’t). Recently, I was at a holiday party sponsored by Fresh and Easy. Out of all the red wines they sell, they selected Doon Buggy Red Blend 2009 to serve. Apparently, it’s very popular among the employees too. So, the gist of the story is that Fresh and Easy bought Doon Buggy Red Blend from winery in Napa Valley that needed to unload it. This [...]

Susan is a two time breast cancer survivor.  She was diagnosed first in 1998.  Her treatment included a lumpectomy, 4 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy, a full mastectomy and then reconstruction.  In 2005, Susan’s cancer came back.  More surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and chemically induced menopause followed.  She is a fighter and still with us today.  I love this quote from her: “I came through the darkness of cancer twice. The first bottle of Cleavage Creek that I drank was the 2006 Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, pictured above. It was absolutely delicious. Winemaker Notes: “Our Climber Red brings together our favorite varietals to create a versatile, food-friendly wine that unveils new aromas and flavors with each [...]

You’re going to think I’m insane, but we hosted a fairly large surprise party in the middle of our eco-friendly bathroom remodel.  It’s a long story, but we thought we’d be much further along in the process, and that it would be doable.  It was a nice party, but not in the style that I typically prefer. Per usual, I rushed into San Diego Wine Company.  I said that I needed a party red wine [...]
