This post is brought to you by Abercrombie Kids, a new favorite of my middle-schooler.
In preparation for middle school, we’ve had to pay closer attention to clothing choices than we usually do.
My almost 6th grader’s style these days is comfortable, casual and entirely without frills. And, we’re further limited by a stricter dress code that requires longer shirts and shorts.
While this school policy (in my opinion) is a good thing, shopping trips to the mall yielded very little until we figured out that Abercrombie Kids suits her perfectly.
Abercrombie Kids Jeans
The jeans are good for an impromptu 7:00 a.m. dog walk on the beach, to soak up what’s left of summer.
They’re fitted enough to look slim but easy enough to roll up when attempting to convince your dog who hates water that the ocean is fabulous. (He’s not at all convinced.)
My daughter is wearing the Super Skinny jeans in a dark wash and regular cut. Abercrombie Kids’ denim comes in a variety of washes, styles, and sizes that run from 3/4 to 15/16.
How lucky she is to open up the package (we ordered online) put on the jeans and go. I envy that.
The rise and waistline of the jeans work well for her. The jeans pretty much stay put when she runs, tumbles and does whatever.
Jean sizes 3/4 to 7/8 come with the adjustable waistband, a feature I looked for when she was younger. It allowed me to buy jeans a bit loose so that she’d get a bit more wear out of them. Pull-on jean jeggings are also available and perfect for this active age group.
Super-Cute Graphic Tees
She also picked out several graphic tees that are soft and have a little bit of stretch in them. More importantly, the tees are on the longer side so that she can comfortably lift her arms up without revealing any skin (practical but a requirement of her new school dress code). Usually, shirts that are long enough on her are also boxy, but these are slim without being too tight.
Plus, the graphic tees are on-trend with age-appropriate sayings. In the age of YouTube and slime, who doesn’t know a DIY Queen?
Sizes for tops run from 5/6 to 15/16.
Comfort and Style for Active Kids
Most importantly, she’s comfortable enough to do everything she does normally while wearing her Abercrombie Kids gear. Need to climb a tree to rescue a ball when throwing something at it doesn’t release it? No problem.
Jeans are a wardrobe staple for any age as you can wear them with nearly any color or style of shirt. She did pick this varsity tee, however, because its sparkly letters match the dark jean wash perfectly.
