Oceanside’s cool California vibe and year-round sunshine attracts visitors from all over the world who come to surf, swim, and sail the salty waters of the Pacific Ocean—and stay in the best Oceanside hotels.
Oceanside is best known for picturesque Oceanside Harbor, adjacent palm-lined Harbor Beach, pedestrianized Strand, and iconic Oceanside Pier (the end restaurant area was largely destroyed by a fire in 2024). Located midway between the heart of Orange County and downtown San Diego, the city offers easy access to SoCal’s most popular attractions.
Affordable accommodations here come with city and coastal views, unique amenities, and SoCal hospitality.

4. The Brick Hotel
Address: 408 Pier View Way, Oceanside, 92054
If you’re looking for a stylish, intimate hotel with a modern/rustic blend, The Brick Hotel in downtown Oceanside is a great choice. Named for the beautiful exposed brick featured on much of the property’s exterior and interior, this boutique 10-room hotel is housed in a historic building dating back to 1888.
Eight of the rooms sleep two people, while the two other rooms have a sofa bed in a spacious living area and sleep four. Pets are allowed in some rooms, too, so ask when booking. Select rooms have balconies featuring premium-quality linens, comforters, and chicly decorated bathrooms.
For such a small hotel, The Brick Hotel offers many food—and particularly beverage—options! The rooms are perched above the Q&A Restaurant and Oyster Bar and beneath Cococabana, a Caribbean-style rooftop cocktail bar serving small bites. You can also choose from Frankie’s, a sophisticated wood-paneled cocktail lounge, or Stone Beer Garden, which sits in a charming leafy setting with a communal firepit.
The property owners also offer a two-bedroom bungalow that sleeps six and is dog-friendly, but it’s not part of the hotel. You can find more information on their website.

Each room has retro appliances, including a mini fridge with a freezer and coffee/tea maker. Some rooms have private patios and are dog-friendly. There’s no onsite parking, which means no parking fee, and WIFI and bottled water are included.
A unique feature of the hotel is its focus on communal spaces where guests can mingle, including a firepit, patios with comfy outdoor furniture, and a cedar hot tub. Guests can also borrow the hotel’s beach cruiser bikes and surfboards.
