If you pack like I do, even the best travel clothes in your suitcase are going to reemerge across the ocean with some wrinkles. Or, a lot of wrinkles. After landing London, my clothes you might say needed some help.

We were headed out to fight jet lag by catching up with friends out on the town and I basically had to pull an outfit out of the suitcase, change and go. I’ve been carrying a mini bottle of Downy Wrinkle Releaser in my suitcase for years to help in times like these.

After arriving at our lovely Mayfair hotel I took a few dresses out and gave them a few spritzes. The other upshot to Downy is that it’s scented so it freshens up clothing that is freezing cold and stale from being in the luggage hold of a plane.

Out the door we went. The theatre district (Covent Garden and Soho) is amazing, especially in the evening.

We love London. Summertime here is particularly fun because the sun sets late at night and the weather is such that people take their drinks from the pubs and restaurants (we went straight to Indian food with friends) to the outside.

My husband and I spent two years living in this glorious city before my daughter was born. This time, I had nine days to explore my old haunts and the Harry Potter hotspots my daughter is keen to see, which is certainly not enough time.

And, it’s no time for an iron. Even at night, I don’t want to walk around with wrinkled clothes.

Our hotel was in Mayfair, a shopping mecca and the heart of Central London. I used to get lost in little alleyways and arcades exploring little shops and grocers. So, of course, we bought clothes here (my daughter forgot to pack a nicer outfit for afternoon tea among other smart casual clothing) that will need a bit of help eliminating creases from being on-the-rack.

Truthfully, we’re no strangers to hotel laundry but it helps to be able to extend the life of your travel clothes before paying to send items away. Even if you are a perfect packer, when just a wrinkle or two needs sorting out, Downy Wrinkle Releaser is much easier for light wrinkles than setting up an ironing board. You just spray, tug, smooth and hang.

Tip: I put Downy Wrinkle Releaser and other toiletry items with spray nozzles in a sealed Ziploc bag before packing them. This way, if they accidentally leak a little the liquid is contained.

Buy Downy Wrinkle Releaser at Target, Kroger, Walmart, Walgreens, Publix, Amazon and many other regional grocery stores but check to find a store near you.
