Yes, Four Seasons Has A Food Truck Headed To SoCal Called #FSTasteTruck

BY La Jolla Mom

I know, the combination of a luxury hotel brand and a food truck might cause a few heads to tilt. In case you haven’t heard, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has a food truck (known as the FS Taste Truck) stopping at 8 hotels in California, Arizona and New Mexico throughout September and October. No, it’s not an uber-fancy set of wheels. It’s a real food truck designed to give the chefs an opportunity to get out of the kitchen and connect with the community in a hip manner that also integrates social media.

The FS Taste Truck has hit the road, starting in Palo Alto (people are raving about the food on Twitter), and I’m reporting live from the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (A Four Seasons Hotel) stop during the weekend of October 12. I have a copy of the BW menu and it’s drool-worthy (see below).

A portion of food truck proceeds goes to Chefs to End Hunger, an organization dedicated to feeding the hungry with excess prepared food (that would otherwise go to waste) from hotels and other foodservice outlets. Eat for a good cause.

#FSTasteTruck Schedule: 3 States, 8 Hotels, 1100 Miles

The food truck will park at the following hotels on these dates:

  • September 16-22 – Palo Alto, California
  • September 23-29  – San Francisco, California
  • September 30 – October 6 – Santa Barbara, California
  • October 7-13 – Beverly Hills, California
  • October 14-20 – Los Angeles, California
  • October 21-27 – Westlake Village, California
  • October 28 – November 3 – Scottsdale, Arizona
  • November 4-10 – Santa Fe, New Mexico

Though on certain days it will be on the go serving up gourmet casual eats at various stops throughout the cities. Follow the hashtag #FSTasteTruck on Twitter for the details.

Beverly Wilshire: Of Cronets And Grilled Delights

Beverly Wilshire a Four Seasons Hotel Welcomes the FS Food Truck

I’ll be covering the truck at the iconic Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (A Four Seasons Hotel). Here is the decadent food menu:

  • Anticuchos (*South American specialty of marinated grilled meat on skewers.)
  • Beef hearts, Aji Huancahina
  • Ahi Tuna, Scallions, Chimichirri
  • Grilled Octopus, olives, Aioli
  • Beef Carrots Cromesqui
  • Steak Salad
  • Salmon Salad
  • Chocolate Rodeo Cronets

What’s a cronet, you ask? It’s a combination of a croissant and a beignet with a chocolate filling. Want to make it at home? Get the Beverly Wilshire cronet recipe on Taste.

What Is Taste By Four Seasons?

As former residents of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, my husband and I have had a number of discussions about this latest endeavor (over much wine, on occasion) because we think it’s brilliant for different reasons. I’m psyched the emphasis is on the amazing food blog (disclaimer: I am one of the writers), Taste by Four Seasons, which is full of tips, hotel restaurant happenings, Pinterest-worthy photos and recipes. Craving ice cream? Well, visit summer of ice cream love for more gourmet ice cream recipes than you can handle. Want to learn Thai fruit carving or pin a quinoa burger recipe? There’s that, too.

My husband has laid his head in more Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts than anyone I know between our hotel residence and his international business travel. Though he jokes that the Sultan of Brunei probably isn’t going to follow the hashtag, my husband is a little bit of a foodie and enjoys interacting chefs and bartenders because it sheds a different light on what’s on his plate or in his cocktail.
