Passports with Purpose is an annual travel blogger-supported fundraiser that raises money to support various causes around the world. This year, the beneficiary is Worldreader who has a very simple mission of bringing digital books to every child and his or her family so that they can improve their lives.
The goal of this year’s Passports with Purpose fundraiser is to place 50 e-readers in five libraries in Western Kenya. This means that an estimated 6250 children, teachers and parents will have access to more than 50,000 books!
Our next #KidsNTrips family travel Twitter party will highlight how Passports with Purpose works, the amazing prize catalog that YOU can bid on as well as the importance of reading in our own families.
How Passports with Purpose Works
Travel bloggers across the globe help procure prizes for the Passports with Purpose catalog. These fantastic items (including hotel stays, gear, gift certificates and so much more) will be unveiled when the fundraiser starts on Sunday, November 8.
Participants scroll through the prize catalog and put $10 toward a desired prize. Donations can be made in multiple increments of $10 for better chances of winning and, of course, may be put toward multiple prizes. Winners are selected at random.
