How to See San Diego Museums for Free

On various Tuesdays each month, the museums in Balboa Park offer free general admission to residents of the County of San Diego and active military (and their dependents).

1

Admission to the Botanical Building is always free. The lath building was built for the 1915-1916 Exposition and now houses over 2100 tropical plants and palms.

2

In Balboa Park, The San Diego Model Railroad Museum's entry fee is donation-based. If you’re unable to contribute, you can still enter to enjoy the model trains and their ornate displays.

3

Coronado Historical Society connects people with the city’s interesting past through museum exhibits, historic photos, and walking tours for free.
