La Jolla Mom
Visiting San Diego in February? In addition to fun events, you will find theme parks, attractions, tours, and museums open for outdoor operations. Here are some activities to consider…
Look for baby seals. It’s pupping season at Children’s Pool Beach in La Jolla. Bring your zoom camera lens and get ready to be entertained by harbor seal babies in this very rare urban rookery.
Head to the tide pools. We’re slowly heading to the end of tide pooling season, so use this as a chance to go out and safely explore.
Walk through a garden. Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park is a lovely place for a zen walk. For fun in the Hamilton Children’s Garden or to clock some miles on a mild or moderate walk, head over to the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas.
Visit the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park. In the winter, the animals are often more active (which is always more fun!)
Gray whales are on their annual migration during February in San Diego which means you can go gray whale watching.
