2 Mocktail Recipes From San Diego’s JSix Restaurant

For times that call for a mocktail, why not mix up a recipe that’s healthy and low on calories? The two delicious mocktail recipes below are provided courtesy of JSix Restaurant, which serves up seasonal and sustainable fare in downtown San Diego.

Basil-ade Mocktail Recipe

Ingredients

  • ΒΌ cup fresh berries
  • 3 leaves fresh basil plus more for garnish
  • 8 ounces fresh lemonade

Instructions

  1. Muddle fresh, seasonal berries in a tall glass until crushed.
  2. Add basil and bruise gently.
  3. Add lemonade.
  4. Add ice and stir.
  5. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Serano Fizz Mocktail Recipe

JSix Serrano Fizz Mocktail Recipes 2 Mocktail Recipes From San Diegos JSix Restaurant

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh Serrano pepper
  • 1/2 fresh apple
  • Simple syrup
  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
  • Soda water

Instructions

    To make simple syrup
  1. Bring 8 ounces of water to boil.
  2. Add 2 cups sugar to water and stir constantly to dissolve.
  3. Once dissolved, remove mixture from heat.
  4. Allow to cool and thicken.
  5. To make mocktail:
  6. Cut pepper width-wise into ring shapes.
  7. Slice apple and discard core.
  8. Dice apple into cubes.
  9. Muddle 2 rings of Serrano with 3-4 small cubes of apple and dash simple syrup in rocks glass.
  10. Add lime juice and additional 1/2 ounce of simple syrup.
  11. Add ice and top off with soda water.
