Montage Laguna Beach: A Luxury, Kid Friendly Getaway

As you might have seen on Wine Wednesday a few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of spending a Saturday at the Montage Laguna Beach with some fabulous moms. It took me exactly one easy hour to get there from La Jolla, so I’m not sure why I haven’t been there before. I intend to return, believe me.  Luxury and kid friendly don’t always go together, but at Montage Laguna they certainly do. This short video (starring yours truly and the other moms in attendance) gives a great overview of the amazing grounds and what we did that day.

We were greeted with Mommy Mimosas upon entering the gorgeous resort.  The weather could not have been more perfect.

After that we took a little tour, including a stop at the children’s club called Paintbox.  This is not a daycare, it’s more like a fun summer camp.  A really fun summer camp. Paintbox has a program for 2-5 year olds and then another for 5-12 year olds.  I would have no problem sending La Jolla Girl to Paintbox while I went to the spa and lounged around the resort….kid free!  If you happen to be at Montage Laguna dining or just enjoying the spa, hourly programs at Paintbox are available too. A Montage Teens program (runs between May 28 – Sept 6) was just announced for kids 13-17 years old too.  These older kids will do awesome activities like kayaking and Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP)!

If you aren’t able to spend the night, but are looking for a day escape, a spa appointment allows you to lounge around the facility for the day.  I would highly recommend this.  San Diego is so close that it’s definitely an option, but do spend the night if you can.

Thanks to Kimberly Blaine for organizing the event (and for the video and photos in this post).  The other fabulous moms in attendance:
