How the Self-Service Booking Tool Works

This easy tool allows you to search, compare, and book hotels in San Diego and across the globe. And you’ll still get all of the VIP perks as if you were booking through a member of our team. Here’s a quick overview of how it works.

  • To access the tool, you’ll have to request a password. (Coming soon: self-registration to avoid the password request.)
  • Enter a specific hotel or destination, the number of adults traveling, and your travel dates. Click search to see the results.
  • Review the amenities, photos, and occupancy requirements of the hotel you like.
  • Compare room types and available rates. Our VIP rates will be displayed as “Virtuoso” or “Cadence Preferred” for any preferred partner program, such as “FAN Club” for all Mandarin Oriental hotels. 
  • Each rate will display applicable amenities, cancelation policies, and booking terms.
  • We’re notified after you book and will follow up to collect your arrival details.

Tip: If you’re uncertain about how many people can stay in the room or suite, double-check the number of adults and kids traveling with the hotel’s website (or email us, and we can tell you). You can also search for rental cars.

Our tool is free to use. Plus, you get us behind the scenes to help service your reservation.

Currently, you can book one accommodation per transaction. So, if you need to book three rooms, for example, you’ll need to make three separate reservations.

Once confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email. Please click “View Trip” at the bottom of your confirmation email if you need to cancel or modify your stay. This will open your internet browser to your booking details, and you’ll see an option to cancel on that page. We can also cancel for you.

The tricky part of using this tool (and many other hotel booking tools) is that the guest count is for adults. At some hotels, like Shangri-La hotels in Hong Kong, kids are considered adults once they turn 12.

For example, if you’re two adults traveling with a 12-year-old to Island Shangri-La Hong Kong, input three guests into our booking tool. If you’re two adults traveling with a 5-year-old, input two guests. It is easiest to check the exact age and occupancy requirements on the hotel’s website.

If prices are the same, book the Cadence Preferred Program first. Each hotel prioritizes its own Partner Program over other VIP programs. Virtuoso is the next best (and fabulous!) option if the hotel does not have a Preferred Program. 

Sometimes, hotels offer promotions that are exclusively for Virtuoso. So, every once in a while, you might see a more beneficial Virtuoso rate. If that’s the case… book Virtuoso instead!

Yes! Once you receive a confirmation of your booking from Travelwits, the hotel has your booking and so do we.

We’ll check it and follow up to collect your arrival details within about business hours 24 hours.
