It depends. You’ll need to crunch numbers to decide if a Go San Diego pass is right for your vacation. But this is one of the most frequently asked questions that I get.

Unfortunately, that’s not a question that we can easily answer for you.

This decision depends on:

  • The attractions you would like to see.
  • The price of the attractions you would like to see.
  • How many consecutive days of sightseeing you have planned (Go San Diego All-Inclusive Passes are sold in 1-, 2-, 3-, 5-, and 7-day increments).
  • Whether you plan to visit SeaWorld San Diego or LEGOLAND California (these are only on the Go San Diego All-Inclusive Pass, not the Go San Diego Explorer Pass).

Start by adding up the discounted ticket prices for the attractions you would like to see. Remember, that I have promo codes for San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and LEGOLAND parks.

Compare your total for discounted ticket prices to the prices for Go San Diego. You’ll need to figure out whether their All-Inclusive or Explorer Pass are less expensive options.

To decide which of the two pass options may work, first think about how many days you have to sightsee and whether they’ll be consecutive. This will help you decide if the All-Inclusive Pass could work.

If it doesn’t work, next take a look to see if the attractions you want to see are on the Explorer Go San Diego Pass (LEGOLAND and SeaWorld are not).

Fraud prevention systems in place sometimes require buyers to submit additional information. Here’s what to do.

aRes Travel collaborates with major attractions to combat fraud. This involves fraud prevention systems that trigger when a transaction meets certain criteria.

These systems get it right most of the time, but every once in a while, a legitimate transaction is blocked.

If you receive a notice that your tickets are blocked, it’s easy to have this fixed.

How to unblock your tickets

Fraud scan systems notify purchasers by email to check for a micro deposit (in cents) authorization on the credit card used to purchase the tickets.

You can usually view these micro deposits in your pending transaction section when you log into your credit card online or through your credit card app.

Follow the link sent in the notification email from aRes Travel. Enter the micro deposit amounts.

Once the correct amounts are submitted, the tickets are unblocked automatically.

Why fraud alerts trigger

These alerts can be triggered when transactions are truly fraudulent or when purchasers accidentally typo phone numbers or addresses tied to credit card billing addresses.

Or, on a rare occasion, a fraud alert is triggered on a legitimate transaction.

Unfortunately, theme parks and authorized ticket sellers face a lot of fraudulent activity related to attraction ticket products. This results in massive costs annually in straight losses and labor.

Contact aRes Travel

If you are still having trouble unblocking your tickets, please contact aRes Travel. It helps to reference your ticket number (ticket numbers start with AON) or the email address you used to purchase them.

Some theme parks like LEGOLAND California and Universal Studios Hollywood require date-specific tickets. Here’s what to do if you need to change dates.

Sometimes people accidentally purchase tickets on the wrong date or plans change. If you need to change the dates on your tickets, please contact aRes Travel for a solution.

A handful of theme parks require that you purchase date-specific tickets. If you need to change the date, please contact aRes Travel.

Yes, you can purchase tickets on a mobile device.

And, you can access your tickets on your phone. Simply pull up the QR code accessible in the confirmation email you received and have it scanned at the gate.

There is no need to bring a printed ticket to the theme park unless specified.

For troubleshooting ticket-related issues please contact aRes Travel directly.

Many without access to a printer people buy our tickets without access to a printer. They will have a QR code or bar code that can be scanned at the gate.

We have promo codes that offer additional savings to San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park and LEGOLAND parks.

FAQs: VIP Hotel Bookings

We can help you book luxury hotels worldwide with extra benefits through Virtuoso and other VIP programs.

If you’re not feeling tech savvy or need quotes for Four Seasons or another hotel that requires us to get you rates, use the forms below to get into our queue.

Virtuoso is the leading global network of agencies specializing in luxury and experiential travel.

Through my partnership with Cadence Travel in La Jolla, you can access Virtuoso benefits at thousands of hotels worldwide.

These luxury hotels are vetted for quality and service — not every property can belong to Virtuoso. And we have a dedicated service contact at these hotels that we can call for immediate assistance.

The extra benefits can include daily breakfast for two, one-time $100 credits, upgrades, and more extra perks at no extra cost to you.

You can book many Virtuoso hotels directly online through my dedicated Virtuoso page.

Book each room in a separate transaction if you need to book multiple rooms on Virtuoso.com.

Unfortunately, AAA can’t be combined with VIP rates like Virtuoso.

We can book AAA rates for you, however!

Virtuoso is a program we provide access to that adds extra benefits to your luxury hotel booking at no extra cost to you.

Through my affiliation with Cadence, a La Jolla based luxury travel agency, you have access to hotel VIP programs.

One of the most comprehensive programs is Virtuoso which includes thousands of hotels representing numerous big and boutique luxury brands worldwide.

When you book Virtuoso hotels, you enjoy added perks that can include:

  • Upgrades at check-in, subject to availability
  • Daily breakfast for two
  • A $100 hotel credit
  • Early check-in or late check-out, subject to availability
  • And more

We currently do not charge additional fees to book hotels for you as the hotels compensate us. This means that there is no additional fee to use Virtuoso.

The majority of Virtuoso member hotels offer online booking on Virtuoso.com. This means that you can book hotels immediately with my benefits 24 hours a day.

Due to overwhelming volume and a desire to keep our services free, we’d like to show you how to find prices for luxury hotels and book them directly online.

Here are the easy steps:

  1. Search for your preferred Virtuoso hotel.
  2. Select your hotel to navigate to its Virtuoso page.
  3. (Mobile devices only.) Activate the desktop version of Virtuoso.com. Scroll down to the navy blue section at the bottom of a Virtuoso hotel page. Click the link that says “Full Site.”
  4. If your hotel offers online booking, you’ll see a booking widget. Enter your dates and ONLY the number of adults traveling to get the correct price. I’ll add on any kids after you book.
  5. Choose a room and click the red “Book” button.
  6. You’ll be prompted to log in or create a new Virtuoso account. You will see the lowest rates after logging in.
  7. Book your hotel! We’ll be notified and will follow up with you.

Unfortunately, you can not pay with points.

Yes! You can earn points on Virtuoso or other hotel VIP reservations.

We link to other hotel sites like Hotels.com, Booking.com, Hilton.com, and others where you may make bookings. If yo book through them, we will not be your travel advisor on record as you will have booked directly through one of these services.

Part of our business model is to help you decide the best way for you to book a hotel.

Sometimes, that means linking to external hotel sites. If you book through these sites, we might get an affiliate commission for the referral, but we are not your travel advisor.

We ARE the travel advisor on your reservation when you:

  • Book online through our Virtuoso.com site.
  • When you work with us directly by email to book a reservation for you.

Our services are currently free. We prioritize hotel requests with firm dates and hotel selections.

Our volume is high so it will take significantly longer for us to get back to you if your dates are too open-ended.

You can book Hotel del Coronado on your own with extra perks through my Virtuoso site! Here’s how to do it.

Hotel del Coronado is my most frequently booked hotel in San Diego. The Virtuoso amenities we have there include:

  • Daily full breakfast per person for two guests per bedroom
  • $100USD equivalent Food & Beverage credit utilized during stay (not combinable, not valid on room rate, no cash value if not redeemed in full)
  • Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi

These Virtuoso amenities apply to each building on the Hotel del Coronado resort:

You can book online yourself through my Virtuoso pages linked above in the same way that we would book it for you. Use the number of adults traveling to get the correct rate. We’re notified when you book and will follow up to collect arrival details and can have your kids added on to the reservation at that time.

Here are the top family-friendly choices from my list of best hotel pools in San Diego.

Kids must be 42″ to ride water slides with an adult and 48″ to ride water slides alone.

Park Hyatt Aviara

The pool area has two small water slides, a zero-entry family pool, pool cabanas, and a kids’ splash pad.

Fairmont Grand Del Mar

This pool has a sand play area adjacent to the family pool.

Hyatt Regency Mission Bay

This pool offers two small water slides on the pool deck but no shallow wading pool for kids. You may also rent pool cabanas, and some have fire pits for s’mores.

Omni La Costa

Splash Landing is the family pool area, and it has a sand play area at the entry to one pool, a small water slide, and a splash pad.

Hotel del Coronado

The main pool is only for resort guests. You may rent cabanas and cabanettes here. But many families choose the Poolside Terrace Two Queen room because it provides faster pool access. Some book it in lieu of a pool cabana.
