The Ranch at Laguna Beach has been an Orange County icon for over 50 years and is about to reopen as a boutique-style ranch resort.
I’m particularly intrigued by the reimagined property because it seems like it could be the perfect relaxing weekend getaway from San Diego because of its wide range of family programming, great food, and cocktails, proximity to the beach and emphasis on wellness.
Rumor has it that this will be the best place to stay in Laguna Beach so let’s take a peek at what is to come.
Casual and Elegant Accommodations
The resort will offer 97 rooms and suites nestled inside rustic one- and two-story buildings will blend early California heritage with beach lifestyle. Every room will have a private patio or viewing deck and you could even choose the two-story and two-bedroom “Treehouse” which is perfect for a family getaway.
A 9-Hole Golf Course
The 9-hole golf course is nestled in the Aliso and Wood canyons and widely regarded as one of the most scenic in the area. It’s a laid-back and quiet course that provides golfers a chance to connect with nature along the way.
There are also shortened tees that cater to junior golfers and, of course, plenty of opportunities for those interested in the sport to learn through clinics and lessons.
Delicious California Cuisine
The soon-to-be-opened Harvest restaurant will serve a seasonal menu inspired by local favorites with many of the ingredients actually grown on the property. Dishes will have a bit of nostalgia woven into them, like desserts themed around Girl Scout cookies. Of course, there will be a hand-crafted cocktail program, 18 beers on tap as well as serene canyon views.
Other dining options include an onsite country bakery and cafe. Guests will also be able to take advantage of the resort’s scenic location through specially-packed picnics filled with gourmet items. As you can see, the photos look delicious whether it’s healthy salads or hearty comfort food.
Family Fun
The resort prides itself on a blend of beach and gorgeous inland activities so while it’s entirely possible to be completely entertained on the property, the glorious Pacific Ocean awaits for beach going, surfing and more. The same goes for the hipster Laguna Beach art community (I loved the Sawdust festival as a kid) and various nearby parks.
The onsite Junior Ranger Kids’ Program lets kids explore the outdoors through nature walks, storytelling, opportunities to learn about sustainability and more. A heated saline pool is perfect for year-round splashing and swimming.
Wellness Programming
More details regarding the resort’s wellness programming will be revealed closer to the opening but the canyon sanctuary is surely the perfect place to recharge. However, we do know that the huge indoor/outdoor full-service spa will reflect the casual Laguna Beach lifestyle and will incorporate healing properties of local flora. The 24-hour fitness center schedule will have hiking, yoga, pilates and more for guests to choose from.
