Many families we work with include Knott’s Berry Farm on their itineraries. I also grew up visiting this park, so I understand how quickly expenses can add up. The good news is that discounted Knott’s Berry Farm tickets can be purchased through authorized sellers in a few easy ways.
This lets you compare options, avoid invalid promo codes and coupons, and leave you some extra cash to enjoy a slice of the park’s famous boysenberry pie!
All ages enjoy the dozens of rides, roller coasters, shows, and attractions in four themed areas, from Old West Ghost Town to the beloved Camp Snoopy. However, there are a few things to consider before purchasing tickets.
Before You Buy: Knott’s Berry Farm Ticket & Entry Tips
If you already know these things, you can skip to ticket discounts.
Please note the following before purchasing Knott’s Berry Farm tickets, especially the chaperone policy.
Check Knott’s Berry Farm Hours
Before visiting, please check open dates and hours. Knott’s Berry Farm is open year-round except on Christmas Day. Knott’s Soak City Water Park is open seasonally. Hours of operation at both parks can vary.
Knott’s Berry Farm Prices at the Gate
Gate prices vary by season and day of the week. Here are some examples of what you might pay at the gate.
- Knott’s Berry Farm: $110 at the gate for ages 3+, from $65 online for flexible dates
- Knott’s Soak City: $50 starting online for ages 3+
- Ages 0-2 are free
For Knott’s Scary Farm, gate prices run around $110 per person and online pricing varies by night. You can also buy a Fast Lane wristband online separately from an admission ticket, which gives you priority line access to most major rides.
You Don’t Need Reservations
These Annual Events Are Included
Knott’s Berry Farm offers several fun annual events included with admission.
- Peanuts Celebration
- Boysenberry Festival
- Summer at Knott’s (including Knott’s Summer Nights on select dates)
- Knott’s Spooky Farm
- Knott’s Merry Farm
Knott’s Scary Farm requires a separate ticket, which can also be purchased at a discount.
Chaperone Policy
A new chaperone policy is in effect until further notice (and is subject to change). The park may add other weekdays as necessary. You can keep up with the details, but here is the gist.
- Guests aged 15 and older must be with a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to enter the park.
- The chaperone must present a valid photo ID that shows their date of birth.
- One chaperone can accompany no more than ten guests ages 15 or younger per day.
- Chaperones must accompany their group during entry and remain inside the park for the entire duration of their visit.
- Chaperones must be available by phone at all times during their stay.
- Guests aged 15 years or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone will be asked to leave.
These rules apply to all Knott’s Berry Farm, Knott’s Scary Farm, and Soak City Waterpark ticket and season pass holders.
Which Knott’s Discount Is Right For You?
The cheapest path depends on your trip. Here’s where to start based on your trip.
- Going once on flexible dates, just Knott’s: Buy park-direct. Aim for a Tuesday or Wednesday in shoulder season to hit the $65 floor.
- Going on a peak summer or holiday date: Check Groupon first. If a deal is active, it usually beats park-direct. If nothing’s running, fall back to direct.
- Stacking Knott’s with Universal Studios Hollywood, the San Diego Zoo, or LEGOLAND on the same trip: A Go City Los Angeles or San Diego pass. The math works past two attractions.
- Going twice or more this year: The 2026 Season Pass at $120 pays for itself after roughly two visits.
- Knott’s plus Six Flags Magic Mountain in the same year: The Gold Pass at $150 covers all California Six Flags parks plus Arizona and Mexico.
- Friend of a season passholder: Bring-A-Friend tickets start at $49.
- Active military, first responder, or veteran: The military discount starts at $57.
- Group of 15 or more: Group rates start at $55.
- Out-of-town family making it a weekend trip: A Knott’s Hotel package bundles admission, dining, and Fast Lane.
The rest of this post walks through each of those paths in detail, plus the myths I get asked about most often (Costco, Sam’s Club, Ralphs, AAA).

1. Groupon Knott’s Berry Farm Tickets:
Cedar Fair, now Six Flags, has long had a soft spot for Groupon. Their reps have told industry partners (including aRes Travel, where I’ve worked with their team for years) that Groupon is a channel they actively use. The catch is that Knott’s Groupons come in waves, not on a regular schedule.
Some seasons there’s a single-day deal with a souvenir bottle for around $77. Other seasons it’s a 2-day pass for the price of one (BOGO) at around $110. And some stretches there’s nothing direct at all, just the Knott’s Hotel package and Go City passes routed through Groupon.
As of April 2026: the active Knott’s deals on Groupon are the Knott’s Hotel package (around $138 per night) and the Go City Los Angeles pass (10% off Go City direct). The single-day souvenir bottle deal and the 2-day BOGO are not currently live.
It’s worth searching “Knott’s Berry Farm Groupon” before any visit. When the direct deals come back, Groupon is usually first to have them, and the single-day with bottle is often the cheapest path I’ve seen all year.
Quick tip on the BOGO 2-Day deal when it’s running: you don’t have to use both days back-to-back. The 2-day pass is typically valid within a window of several weeks or the whole season, so you can split it across two separate visits.
2. Knott’s Berry Farm Direct on Sixflags.com/Knotts
This is the baseline for current single-day pricing. Knott’s was rebranded under Six Flags after the Cedar Fair merger, and the direct site posts the lowest single-day price on most dates I’ve tested.
Single-Day Park Ticket starts at $65 online versus $110 at the gate. Pricing is dynamic by date, so off-peak weekdays will hit closer to that $65 floor while peak summer Saturdays climb noticeably higher. The site flags select-day pricing as “up to 40% off the gate price,” which is what to look for when picking your visit date.
The buying flow is straightforward: select your date, pay, get a digital ticket emailed to you. Tickets are valid only on the date you select. Buy single-day Knott’s tickets at sixflags.com/knotts.
The cheapest dates I’ve seen are Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the shoulder seasons (late February, March, late September, and early October). If your travel dates are flexible, that’s where the $65 floor lives. Saturdays in July and during Knott’s Scary Farm operating weekends are the most expensive.
We still have discounted tickets to other Southern California attractions on our discount site, including the San Diego Zoo, LEGOLAND California (promo code LEGO), and Disneyland (promo code SAVEMORE for multi-day tickets).
We have discounted Medieval Times tickets to add to your Buena Park trip!
3. Go City San Diego Sightseeing Pass (TOP PICK)
The Go City San Diego pass offers savings of up to 50% on admission to nearly 45 top San Diego attractions. Other Southern California attractions are also included, such as Knott’s Berry Farm and Knott’s Soak City. Here’s how it works:
- Choose the pass option that best suits you (you can buy an All-inclusive or Explorer pass) and buy it in advance.
- Get your pass on a mobile device or print it at home.
- Show the pass at any eligible attraction, and you’re in for free.
The passes are available at different prices in 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, and 7-day options for the All-Inclusive Pass Plus, but Knott’s is also on the new Essentials Pass. Ensure that the attractions you want to visit are listed on the option you purchase.
This is the most popular discounted, bundled San Diego attractions pass, as it also includes a few Orange County and Los Angeles attractions.

5. Knott’s Berry Farm Vacation Packages
You can bundle stays at the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel with discounted tickets through Knott’s directly. Or, there is also a Groupon deal for Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel and tickets right now.

6. Knott’s Berry Farm Bring a Friend Tickets
Know a Season Passholder? Season Passholders can buy up to 4 discounted Bring-A-Friend tickets for $49 each. They will also receive one free Bring-A-Friend pass, subject to certain restrictions.
7. Military Discounts Every Day
Active and retired military, veterans, and first responders can buy Knott’s Berry Farm tickets online starting at $57 versus $110 at the gate. Each qualifying person can purchase up to 6 tickets for family and friends.
The discount is online-only and requires verification through ID.me before checkout. It can’t be stacked with other sales or offers. In the past, the park has also hosted Military Tribute Days with reduced admission for military families. Keep an eye out for those events.
8. Costco Discount Knott’s Tickets
Costco Travel previously sold discounted tickets for Knott’s Berry Farm and other theme parks. As of 2026, Costco Travel’s theme parks page lists Disney and Universal options but has no Knott’s vacation packages available. In-warehouse Costco locations occasionally still carry physical Knott’s ticket packs near the gift card aisle, especially in Southern California stores in the spring, but inventory is unreliable.
It doesn’t hurt to check your local Costco store, but I wouldn’t drive there for it. I always check mine, and I haven’t seen any recently.
Same story for Sam’s Club, Ralphs, and Vons. Sam’s Club has historically carried Knott’s tickets in some warehouse locations but doesn’t have a current online channel. Ralphs and Vons used to carry Knott’s ticket packs at customer service desks years ago. None of these are reliable paths in 2026. Buy from the park directly for predictable savings.
9. AAA Knott’s Berry Farm Discount
AAA occasionally sells Knott’s Berry Farm tickets at a discounted rate. Check with your local AAA to see if any discounts are available. Or check online through Knotts directly to receive AAA discounts on regular admission tickets and a discount on regular admission tickets at Knott’s Soak City Waterpark.

10. Group Discounts (Online Only)
Groups of 15 or more can purchase discounted Knott’s Berry Farm tickets on the website for as low as $55. The discount may vary depending on the day you visit.
You can also buy single-meal group packages, birthday group packages, and discounted Soak City group tickets.
11. Knott’s Berry Farm Annual Pass Options
The 2026 season pass tiers expanded after the Six Flags merger to cover more parks per tier. Annual passes to Knott’s Berry Farm for the 2026 season are:
- $120 for the regular 2026 Season Pass (gate $215). Unlimited Knott’s Berry Farm visits, no blockout dates, Bring-A-Friend access, 10% food and merchandise discount.
- $150 for the 2026 Gold Pass (gate $240). Includes everything in the Season Pass plus all California Six Flags parks (including Six Flags Magic Mountain), Arizona and Mexico Six Flags parks, and Knott’s Soak City. Marked “Most Popular” on the site.
- $300 for the 2026 Prestige Pass (gate $399). Includes everything in Gold plus all Six Flags parks nationwide, free general parking, VIP entrance for 2 hours daily, 15% food and merchandise discount, and 2 free Bring-A-Friend tickets per year.
You may also add on All-Season Dining, Drink Plan, FunPix, the All-Season Parking Pass at $90, Locker Rentals, and the All-Season Fast Lane at $625 (now valid at participating Six Flags parks based on your pass tier).
Season passes may be an attractive option even for Los Angeles or San Diego residents who plan to visit the park multiple times a year. We estimate you will need to visit the park twice to get your money’s worth with the Season Pass. The Gold Pass makes sense if you’ll also visit Six Flags Magic Mountain even once during the season, since it pays for itself across both parks.
I haven’t seen a Knott’s Berry Farm season pass promo code yet, but I will let you know if one becomes available.

Knott’s Berry Farm Fast Lane Tickets (Skip Lines)
To skip lines at Knott’s Berry Farm, buy the Daily Fast Lane pass online from $75 in addition to your ticket. Knott’s also sells the All-Season Fast Lane for $625 per person, valid for 2026 visits and now accepted at participating Six Flags parks based on your pass admission.
A Fast Lane wristband gives you priority boarding on select rides, including GhostRider, Timber Mountain Log Ride, Voyage to the Iron Reef, Silver Bullet, and more.
It is not available every day, so please check the Fast Lane calendar. You’ll need an admission pass in addition to the Fast Lane pass. If your budget permits, I recommend Fast Lane on peak days.
Knott’s Berry Farm History as America’s First Theme Park
As someone who grew up going to this California theme park, I believe its start is part of what makes it unique. Walter and Cordelia Knott moved to Buena Park in the 1920s to farm 20 acres of rented land.
Through ups and downs, including frost-damaged crops and the Great Depression, by 1928 they had built a tea room, grocery, and nursery on 20 acres of land that the family could eventually purchase.
Anaheim Parks Superintendent Rudolph Boysen created a new strain of berry, but the plants kept dying on the vine. Walter rejuvenated the struggling plants and named the new berry, a cross between a loganberry, red raspberry, and blackberry, after Boysen. All boysenberries can trace their roots to Knott’s Berry Farm.
Cordelia began selling jams and jellies made from the boysenberries, eventually leading to the creation of home-baked pies, hot biscuits, and sandwiches. Then, on a night in June 1934, Cordelia served eight fried chicken dinners on her wedding china. The cost was 65 cents each, and the world’s largest chicken dinner restaurant was born. You can still dine at the Chicken Dinner Restaurant inside Knott’s Berry Farm, which serves more than 1.5 million guests annually.
By 1940, the restaurant served as many as 4,000 dinners on Sunday evenings. To give customers something to do, Walter built a Ghost Town (one of the current Knott’s Berry Farm-themed areas) by acquiring and relocating buildings from deserted ghost towns. Over the years, more themed areas and rides were added.
Following the passing of founders Walter and Cordelia Knott, their children sold the park in 1997 to Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. In 1999, Cedar Fair expanded Knott’s Berry Farm by adding a water park called Knott’s Soak City. The Cedar Fair / Six Flags merger closed in 2024, and Knott’s now operates under the Six Flags brand.

Planning Your Visit to Knott’s Berry Farm
Prepping for Knott’s Berry Farm fun takes a little bit of research, but we’ve done it for you. Here’s a quick rundown on the best time to visit, how to get to the park, and what to expect.
When to Visit Knott’s Berry Farm
The best time to visit Knott’s Berry Farm depends on what you’re looking for. If you prefer smaller crowds and shorter lines, consider visiting during the off-season, typically from mid-January (after winter holidays) to mid-March (before spring break, but avoid Presidents’ Day Weekend) and from September to November.
During these times, you can enjoy the park’s thrilling rides and attractions, usually without long waits. However, the festive atmosphere during the two peak season special events is pretty fun despite the crowds: Knott’s Scary Farm and Knott’s Merry Farm.
Getting to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park
Knott’s Berry Farm is located in Buena Park, California, about 20 miles southeast of Downtown Los Angeles.
If you’re driving, you can use GPS to navigate to the park’s address: 8039 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA 90620.
If you’re using public transportation, you can take the Metro bus or the Orange County Transit Authority bus, which stops near the park’s entrance. I can also tell you from plenty of first-hand experience that Uber and Lyft also work well in OC.

What is Knott’s Scary Farm?
Knott’s Scary Farm is a Halloween event that transforms Knott’s Berry Farm into a spooky haunted park with scare zones and mazes.
The rides feature hair-raising themes, and park staff dressed as monsters roam around. It’s considered one of the longest-running Halloween events at a theme park. I went every season as a teenager!
Knott’s Scary Farm 2026 runs September 17 through October 31 on select nights. The attraction is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Knott’s Spooky Farm (the kid-friendly daytime version, included with regular Knott’s day admission) runs September 24 through October 31.

Those looking to attend Knott’s Scary Farm, Southern California’s largest (and scariest) Halloween Event, can buy tickets online to save on front-gate prices. Military discounts are also available for active members and veterans.
In the past, these special military discounts have allowed American heroes to save up to $44 on Knott’s Scary Farm tickets. Season Passholders can save an extra $5 by purchasing tickets online.
Numerous special offers and hotel packages are available for guests wanting to extend their stay at this popular fright fest, making your visit as convenient, cheap, and stress-free as possible.
Is there a Knott’s Berry Farm student discount?
Knott’s Berry Farm discounts don’t currently include student discounts. However, student and youth program packages are available that are perfect for field trips or school-led trips to the park.

Can I use American Express Membership Rewards to buy tickets?
I am an AMEX Platinum cardholder. Some websites say you can use Membership Rewards to buy Knott’s Berry Farm tickets or get discounted theme park tickets. I have never personally seen this option available. You can use your points to cover any purchase, though, so in theory, this card can save you money at the park.
I often check Chase Ultimate Rewards but haven’t found any deals for Knott’s Berry Farm tickets.
Does Costco sell Knott’s Berry Farm tickets?
Costco Travel does not currently sell Knott’s 1-day tickets or vacation packages. In-warehouse Costco stores occasionally carry physical Knott’s ticket packs near the gift card aisle, but inventory is unreliable. The Costco “$35 Knott’s tickets” search query is a recurring myth based on packs that may have circulated years ago and aren’t a current promotion.
Does Sam’s Club sell Knott’s Berry Farm tickets?
Sam’s Club doesn’t currently have a reliable online channel for Knott’s tickets. Some warehouse locations have historically carried them and may again. If you’re a member, check your local warehouse, but don’t make a special trip.
Are Knott’s Berry Farm tickets sold at Ralphs or Vons?
This is a legacy question. Ralphs and Vons (and some other Southern California grocery chains) used to occasionally carry Knott’s ticket packs at customer service desks. It’s not a reliable current path. Buy direct from the park for predictable pricing.
Is there a Knott’s Berry Farm Groupon?
Cedar Fair, now Six Flags, has a long-standing Groupon partnership and runs Knott’s deals seasonally. As of April 2026, only the Knott’s Hotel package and a Go City pass are active on Groupon. Single-day-with-bottle and 2-day BOGO deals come back periodically. Always check Groupon before any visit.
Does AAA offer a Knott’s Berry Farm discount?
AAA offers a discount on Knott’s tickets through its member benefits portal at ace.aaa.com. The discount amount varies by AAA region, but Auto Club Southern California members can typically save up to 10% off online ticket prices. Six Flags itself does not feature an AAA discount on the official Knott’s site, so go through AAA’s member portal directly.
What is the cheapest day to visit Knott’s Berry Farm?
Tuesday and Wednesday in late February, March, late September, and early October are the most consistently low-priced days I’ve seen for online single-day tickets, often hitting the $65 floor. Saturdays in summer and Knott’s Scary Farm nights are the most expensive.
Can I buy Knott’s tickets at the gate?
Yes, but the walk-up gate price is $110 per person. Buying online ahead of time is almost always cheaper, and the gap is wide enough that most families would pay $30 to $45 more per ticket walking up versus buying online the night before.
What was the Cedar Fair and Six Flags merger?
Cedar Fair (which had owned Knott’s since 1997) and Six Flags merged in 2024. The combined company operates under the Six Flags brand. What changed for visitors: the official park URL is now sixflags.com/knotts (the old knotts.com redirects there), single-day pricing is unified across Six Flags parks, and the Gold and Prestige season pass tiers cover multiple parks across the country. For the longer story, see my Cedar Point discount tickets guide.
