Transformed into a cocktail, The Lusca is made with Miss B’s house blend rum, guava-mango kombucha, Nocello (a walnut- and hazelnut-flavored liqueur from Italy), citrus, and honey poured into an octopus goblet smoking with dry ice.

At $100 a drink, this cocktail serves 5-10 people so friends can battle the mighty sea monster together. You can attempt this at home (be safe, my friends) with this recipe.

  • 4 cups  guava-mango kombucha (You can buy Bucha brand makes a guava-mango kombucha)
  • 2 cups Stiegl Radler grapefruit beer
  • 3 oz Plantation pineapple rum
  • 3 oz Plantation O.F.T.D. rum
  • 3 oz dark rum
  • 1.5 oz Nocello
  • 1.5 oz pineapple juice
  • 1.5 oz papaya puree
  • 1.5 oz honey
  • 8 to 10 dashes of walnut bitters (can be bought on Amazon)
  • pineapple top and kelp for garnish

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to a punch bowl with ice and stir to mix.
  • Garnish with pineapple top and kelp.
  • Ladle into individual cups, or add long straws and sip en masse.

This recipe is courtesy of Brian’s 24, a former favorite full-service 24-hour Gaslamp San Diego restaurant that has sadly closed. In addition to giant margaritas, you’d go for breakfast served round-the-clock and other oversized portions of comfort food.

  • 6 oz Hornitos Reposado Tequila
  • 3 oz triple sec
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 3 oz lemon juice
  • 3 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz Grand Marnier
  • Sierra Mist

Directions:

  1. Fill the Fishbowl glass over the top with ice.
  2. Measure and pour Tequila, Triple Sec, and juices over ice.
  3. Top with Sierra Mist and float Grand Marnier on top.
