Just Dance: A Wii Game You and Your Kids Will Love

Over the weekend, I was lucky to attend a Fun, Fit and Guilt Free House Party hosted by Theresa of Rock on Mommies.   House Parties are an awesome new idea (or at least new to me) where sponsors can have people try out whatever cool new products they’re marketing.  House Parties occur across the country all on the same day, and there were about 7500 Fun, Fit and Guilt Free House Parties happening on Jan 9th.  We tested Jell-O Shape Ups and two Wii games called Your Shape by Jenny McCarthy and Just Dance.   It’s a genius idea because UBI Soft, the maker of these two games, got some ridiculously good publicity for Just Dance by our group alone.  I’m still laughing about it.  Theresa put it on Ustream and people were actually watching us dance live! It was the most fun I’d had in a long time.

I’m afraid the video doesn’t really capture how much fun everyone was having with it, because it was insane fun.  It’s also too bad you can’t see the TV screen.  There’s a dancing person on there we’re following, dressed in garb fitting the song currently playing.  The game also gives you little hints as to what the next moves are going to be.  What’s also nice is that not everyone needs a Wii remote to play, just one person does.  And you don’t have to be a dancer, trust me, I’m so not.

I wanted to also mention this Wii game because Theresa’s preschooler, Lil L, jumped in and started playing the game too.  It’s for that reason, mainly, that I’m buying it.  I can totally see La Jolla Girl and I playing it together all the time.  Not to mention the fact that it’s great exercise!  People were sore the following morning from all the movement!  So if you need to get your kids moving, this might just do it and it’s a fun way for you to burn some calories too.

The only downside is that it’s only got 32 songs on it, but that’s ok, I’ll definitely get my money’s worth.  A list of the bloggers and tweeps in attendance:
