Before I went on vacation there are a two things I’m very glad I did. One was get Japanese Hair Straightening (so I never had to do my hair) and the other was have my legs lasered. I only had my first treatment at OasisMD right before I left, so I wasn’t expecting too much, but I will tell you that I shaved my legs once in three weeks. I was on the go with a 4 year old where it was hot outside and we were in and out of hotel swimming pools. I was grateful not to have to worry about whether or not my legs were shaved!
Why I Got Laser Hair Removal
I have a terrible habit of crossing my legs when I sit at the computer. I’m trying to break this, but it’s caused (I think) some ingrown hairs on the back of my calves that are really uncomfortable and unattractive looking. So I asked my friends at OasisMD if laser hair removal might help, and I noticed a HUGE difference after one treatment. Convenience is the other reason, of course. The less personal maintenance I have to deal with, the better.
It Was Quick, Easy and Did Not Hurt
The laser Natalie at OasisMD used on my legs is called Alma Harmony XL. The entire treatment took maybe 10-15 minutes and it didn’t hurt. It felt like someone was using a tape lint roller on my legs. I have had laser treatments where my eyes well up with tears because it hurts so much. Not this time. I was totally astonished that I felt zero pain. The entire process was a low stress experience. I’ll go back about once every 5 weeks or so. I can’t see it taking more than several treatments, but I’ll let you know. I asked Natalie how often clients need to come back after their treatments are done. She said not at all, unless the person experiences a hormonal, change such as pregnancy.
How Much Does it Cost?
You’ll need to make an appointment at OasisMD so they can have a look at your situation and give you an exact price. Lower legs average about $300 per treatment. However:
Mention you heard about OasisMD from La Jolla Mom and they’ll give you two laser hair removal treatments for the price of one!
Call them, you won’t regret it. They have 14 different lasers and will select which is best for you. There is a lot of experience in this office.
Where is OasisMD?
It’s very easy to get to in Encinitas, just west of the I5 off of Santa Fe. There’s plenty of free parking.
Summer is coming and if you love being in the sun, you can’t have laser treatments on areas that you plan to expose within two weeks of the treatment.
I had a pretty awful experience with laser hair removal a while back, so I purposefully waited before I raved about this treatment. I can’t recommend OasisMD and this laser enough! I’d also like to thank OasisMD for being a big supporter of our La Jolla Tweetups, which is how I met them initially.

My laser treatment was a trade for social media services, but I wasn’t obligated to write this.
