What’s New at SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration in 2026

Dolphin Island Christmas

Dolphin Island Christmas at Dolphin Stadium is a holiday show with music and performances inspired by Hawaii and the Pacific Islands. You’ll also hear about Solstice, the park’s newest dolphin, who is spending her first Christmas there.

North Pole Storytime

Paige the Elf, the North Pole’s head librarian, hosts this storytime about Santa’s visit to SeaWorld San Diego. A few volunteers from the audience help her tell it.

DJ the Elf

DJ the Elf hosts a family dance party with a few elf guests, set to remixed holiday favorites.

Rock the Holiday Christmas Parade

This year’s Christmas parade is all-new. Mrs. Claus and her North Pole elves sing and dance through the park on floats, joined by toy makers, bakers, chefs, and other North Pole characters.

Christmas Shows at SeaWorld San Diego

Shows are one of the strengths of Christmas at SeaWorld San Diego.

Clyde & Seamore’s Christmas Special

Clyde and Seamore, the park’s witty, prank-loving sea lions, are back with their trainers for a Christmas-themed sea lion and otter show. It plays at Sea Lion Stadium, and showtimes are on the park schedule.

A Stocking Full of Soul

A Stocking Full of Soul, the one not to miss in 2025, is back this year. It’s a soulful celebration of holiday classics, with live music, singing, and dancing at the Nautilus Amphitheater, and it will definitely put you in a holiday mood.

Toymaker Trouble with Mrs. Claus and the Elves

At the North Pole, Santa’s elves are finishing the last toys for his sleigh, and Mrs. Claus and three of her most trusted elves help the head toymaker elf, Sparky, get back into the Christmas spirit. The show was new in 2025 and returns this year.

Donner and Blitzen’s Lazer Light Show

The laser light show set to holiday music returns, and it runs every night at the front of the park.

A Christmas Wish Fireworks Show

The fireworks light up the sky on Saturday, December 12, and again on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31. Everyone nearby can see them, so you don’t have to be inside the park to enjoy the show.

Christmas Lights and Snow

Over One Million Holiday Lights

More than a million lights cover the park, including the 320-foot-tall SkyTower Tree of Lights, San Diego’s biggest Christmas tree. It lights up the Mission Bay skyline every night, and I can see it from my house.

Festive color shows up all around the park, from Santa’s sleigh to a menorah display at the Manta roller coaster (one of SeaWorld San Diego’s best rides).

Look for the palm trees lit like candy canes, a San Diego twist on the holiday lights. We love nothing more than strolling the park with a hot chocolate, a craft beer, or a holiday cocktail in hand and taking it all in.

30-Foot Tree Lighting Ceremony

Don’t miss the 30-foot Christmas tree lighting ceremony, which takes place every night in Holiday Plaza, where two special guests from the North Pole help light the tree. In 2025, the twinkling lights were programmed to move in sync with multiple lighting designs and set to classic Christmas songs.

Snowfall Throughout the Park

If your Christmas wish is to see snow this holiday season, SeaWorld San Diego can make it come true. “Snow” falls every night at both SkyTower Lawn and Wild Arctic.

It isn’t quite a true winter wonderland, since the “snow” is tiny bubbles blown over the crowd, but it still feels like magic for a San Diego white Christmas.

Coca-Cola Lane and Market

Coca-Cola Lane is a pathway of candy-cane red and white lights, festive music, and special Coca-Cola holiday drinks.

For a classic family portrait, the Coca-Cola Market has a Christmas photo op set among Coca-Cola Christmas trees and ornaments.

Meet Santa, Rudolph, and the Reindeer

Santa’s Live Reindeer

You can meet Santa’s real reindeer, visiting all the way from the North Pole, and learn more about them. Two of them are here this season, near Rentals. You can even send Santa a letter through the reindeer.

Meet Santa

Santa Claus is back this year at Santa’s Cottage on SkyTower Lawn, where you can tell him all of your Christmas wishes before plunging into his supply of candy canes. SeaWorld also sells a Santa Claus photo package.

Meet Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph meets guests inside the Holly Jolly Marketplace at Rudolph’s Christmastown, where SeaWorld also sells a Rudolph photo package.

In this area, you’ll also find several photo backdrops featuring Santa and reindeer, the Abominable Snowman, and others.

Holiday Shopping, Food, and a Scavenger Hunt

Holly Jolly Marketplace & the Christmas Shoppe

It wouldn’t be a SeaWorld San Diego Christmas celebration without a little bit of shopping. Stock up on gifts and décor at the seasonal boutique, which features plenty of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer merchandise.

Snowflake Seeker’s: A Christmas Quest!

This scavenger hunt is a fun family activity. Buy a map at The Christmas Shoppe, scour the park in search of colorful winter snowflakes, and return the completed map to the store for a special prize (one per map, while supplies last).

Holiday-Inspired Food

Tips for Your SeaWorld San Diego Christmas Celebration Visit

California theme parks are busy during the holidays, and SeaWorld San Diego is no exception.

Plan Dining Ahead of Time

On our weekend visit over Thanksgiving break, lines at the popular quick-service kiosks and counter-order restaurants were long all day. If you see a short line, get in it to eat, especially on weekends. Order food through the app if you can.

Consider Quick Queue for Rides

We added Quick Queue to our tickets. It gets you into a shorter line for popular rides like the Electric Eel roller coaster and Journey to Atlantis, two of the reasons SeaWorld is a popular theme park for teens in San Diego.

The teens with me could ride each one multiple times with only a few minutes’ wait.

Go Later in the Day

Many holiday events happen in the afternoon and evening. The snowfall, the tree lighting ceremony, and the laser light show all run nightly, so if you stay into the evening, you’ll catch all three.

Where to Buy SeaWorld San Diego Tickets for the Christmas Celebration

There is no need to pay gate prices. Choose the best option for your itinerary, whether individual tickets or a sightseeing pass. On our ticket site, you can add ticket insurance for $25 at checkout for a full refund.
