Katie Dillon is the founder of La Jolla Mom and a trusted travel advisor based in San Diego for over three decades. A former Four Seasons resident, she shares unmatched hotel insight, certified San Diego expertise, verified theme park discounts, and VIP hotel privileges worldwide through her industry connections.

Having lived in a Four Seasons hotel, I understand the brand at a level most advisors can’t.

Like many of you, I also have access to American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts, Chase’s The Edit, Founderscard, and other premium travel programs. I’ve used them all, but none deliver the same consistency, recognition, personalization, and VIP status as the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program.

I’ll share why I book both my own travel and my clients’ stays through Four Seasons Preferred Partner over any other program. This advisor-only program adds exclusive benefits to every reservation that add value to your stay, but they’re not what actually changes the experience.

What Is the Four Seasons Preferred Partner Program?

Four Seasons Preferred Partner is an invitation-only program that gives select luxury travel advisors access to exclusive benefits for their clients.

These privileges aren’t publicly promoted and are designed to make an exceptional stay even more memorable—especially at the luxury level, where every detail matters.

Reservations booked through a Preferred Partner advisor are still handled directly by Four Seasons, but with an added layer of recognition and service that comes from our advisor relationship with each property.

What Are the Benefits of Booking Four Seasons Through a Preferred Partner?

While the exact privileges vary by property, Preferred Partner reservations are recognized with a tailored set of elevated touches not available through public booking channels. These may include:

  • Daily breakfast for two guests per bedroom
  • A hotel or resort credit to use during your stay (amount varies by property and room type)
  • Enhanced room placement or upgrade when available
  • Flexible check-in and check-out when possible
  • Access to select offers available only through Preferred Partner advisors

Preferred Partner bookings are also prioritized within the Four Seasons system and receive added attention from on-property teams. In practice, this means your preferences are flagged, your celebrations are noted, and your stay is prepared with extra care.

How Preferred Partner Has Elevated My Own Four Seasons Travel

These are just a few moments that reflect the added recognition and thoughtful enhancements I’ve received by booking my stays through Preferred Partner.

A Personal Perspective on Being a Preferred Partner Advisor

I’ve experienced Four Seasons both as a long-term guest and now as a Preferred Partner advisor. Many of you already know the brand’s legendary service. What you may not see is what happens behind the scenes when you book through Preferred Partner.

Here’s what sets it apart:

  • VIP recognition: Your reservation is flagged in the Four Seasons system and sent directly to my on-property Preferred Partner contacts.
  • Human advocacy: These are not just notes in a booking file — I communicate with people I know, and they plan around your requests.
  • Proactive care: From anniversaries to connecting rooms, your details are handled before you arrive, not at check-in.
  • Seamless support: You can still use the Four Seasons app, but you don’t need to wonder if anyone is paying attention — the property already knows who you are.
  • Trust built over time: I’ve developed long-standing relationships with these teams, which means faster responses and thoughtful touches.
  • Rare issues resolved quickly: On the rare occasion something comes up, it’s addressed swiftly — often before you even realize there was a hiccup.

This isn’t a transactional process. It’s relationship-driven. I trust my clients are looked after as if I were checking in myself.

Four Seasons Preferred Partner FAQs

Rest assured that this is the best way to book a Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

We book people with Four Seasons Preferred Partner and other hotel VIP programs at no additional cost. The price of your room or suite, is the SAME as the “Room Rate” option you see on FourSeasons.com as well as some other non-breakfast promotional rates like Advanced Purchase or Extra Nightly Resort Credit.

Fine Hotels & Resorts and Chase’s Luxury Hotel Collection can provide valuable benefits, but they operate like booking portals. There isn’t a dedicated advocate following your stay and you’re handled by a call center or customer service team, not someone with a direct relationship with Four Seasons.

With Preferred Partner, your reservation is flagged VIP in the hotel system, and I work directly with on-property contacts to communicate your preferences in advance. That personal advocacy often makes the difference with upgrades, room placement, and special recognition. I know a lot of these people personally and have met them in real life.

Think of it this way: Four Seasons Preferred Partner is Four Seasons’ VIP program. It’s natural for the brand to prioritize its own VIPs.

Four Seasons doesn’t have a frequent stay program where guests can earn points. You’ll have a guest profile once you stay at a Four Seasons. And they do make detailed notes on it, which helps ensure your future stays are equally amazing.

When we book someone in using Four Seasons Preferred Partner, the benefits automatically attach to the reservation. There is no need to remind the hotel. On top of this, we work with the hotel behind the scenes to confirm your reservation. We will ask you for your arrival details (the hotels prefer flight information), special occasions, names, and pass along any other special notes or requests.

With your permission, we can usually add Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits to existing reservations that were made on FourSeasons.com or through the hotel or resort directly by phone.

If you made a reservation through a third party, you would need to cancel and rebook to get the benefits.

Whether seeking a tranquil retreat or a vibrant urban escape, the Four Seasons network boasts a diverse portfolio of properties that cater to every desire and whim. Let me know how I can help you pick one.
