Twenty-eight Disney cruises will depart from San Diego over the course of the next year. And, wow, are you going to want to get onboard.
The Disney Wonder ship is beautiful with large rooms, plenty of secluded space for adults while heaving with kid fun. I also like that some of the itineraries are as short as two nights, making it a doable weekend trip for San Diego residents or people on a San Diego vacation with a few days to spare.
How cool is that?
About the Disney Wonder Ship
Disney Wonder’s 11 decks overflow with recreation. This is only a fraction of what is available.
So Much Entertainment
From fireworks at sea to Broadway caliber shows (like Frozen, A Musical Spectacular), expect to be entertained on Disney Wonder. Guests also enjoy character greetings, live performances, deck parties and 3-D movies inside of a luxurious theater.
Three Themed Pools
Of course, there’s the family pool where all can splash around together and a water slide just for kids. Believe it or not, even on a Disney cruise, there’s an adults-only pool!
Youth Clubs for All Ages
Disney Wonder has supervised kids’ clubs for every age. “it’s a small world” Nursery entertains kids ages 6 months to 6 years (1 – 3 years old on the Panama itinerary) while parents enjoy some much-needed alone time. Disney’s Oceaneer Club for ages 3 – 12 lets kids ages 3-12 adventure into four lands including MARVEL’s Super Hero Academy, Andy’s Room, Frozen Adventures and Disney Junior. Tweens watch movies, play games, craft and more at Edge while teens mingle at Vibe until 2:00 a.m.
It’s SO nice that various age groups have their own space.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Kids can enter this very special salon to be transformed into a princess, courageous knight or even a famous mouse. You can read about our Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience at Hong Kong Disneyland to get an idea of how it works.
In addition to the quiet pool mentioned above, adults can unwind in a full-service spa and salon. They can enjoy drinks in the Crown & Fin British-style pub or Cadillac Lounge (featuring nightly live piano) in addition to dancing the night away at Azure.
Disney Wonder staterooms were designed with families in mind. There are 9 room types ranging from a standard inside stateroom (which is more spacious than same-class rooms on other cruise lines) to 2-bedroom suites with concierge privileges. Families also love the spacious bath-and-a-half design (featured in nearly every stateroom), nautical décor, generous storage areas, premium bedding and linens, and plenty of usable space.
Where a San Diego Disney Cruise Can Go
San Diego Disney Wonder cruises tour Baja and the Mexican Riviera with two sailing through the Panama Canal.
On most Baja sailings, guests can visit Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada, Mexico to enjoy world-famous beaches and snorkeling.
Mexican Riviera itineraries feature snorkeling and scuba diving hot spots, while Puerto Vallerta and Mazatlan are where cliff divers, culture and zip lining through the jungle canopy take center stage.
And, how cool is it that you can depart San Diego, visit the Mexican Riviera along the way, cross through the Panama Canal, hit the Caribbean and land in Texas over the course of two weeks? The Panama Canal!
Friday departures for the two-night cruises also offer the ultimate weekend getaway from San Diego.
