Hotel Republic San Diego is part of the Autograph Collection, Marriott’s portfolio of over 125 one-of-a-kind properties worldwide.

The boutique hotel’s goal is to immerse guests in the best of San Diego through insider experiences, a “chic beach house meets private yacht club” design, and a partnership with one of San Diego’s premier restaurant groups. It’s popular with those who want a nice, reasonably-priced spot downtown.

In this review, you’ll learn that I have some perks there that you may want to take advantage of.

Hotel Republic is a pet-friendly San Diego hotel. Every four-legged pet receives a special dog bed, bowl, and mat. Waive the pet deposit by upgrading to the Pooch Package, which features all of the above as well as nightly turn-down for your pup with an in-room dinner of house-made broth and a biscuit, a chalkboard welcoming your fur-baby by name, and a keepsake name tag etched with ‘If lost, please return me to Hotel Republic.’

Locally-Inspired Dining

Three dining options provide all-day dining via quick-service and full-service dining, eliminating the need to look for easy eats outside of the hotel. Or, opt for in-room dining. Note: In-room dining is temporarily unavailable.

Topside Terrace Kitchen & Bar

Dine alfresco on the third-floor terrace and lounge. This is where the popular weekend brunch (and yoga classes prior to it) happen in addition to happy hour.

Banquettes lining the perimeter and a cozy firepit reflect the laid-back San Diego vibe.

Quick-service coffee and healthy dining options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner include bowls, sandwiches, plates, kombucha, craft beer and wines by the glass for those on the move. To-go, prepackaged items are available, too, and guests can also opt for full-service dining as seating is available for up to 46 people.

Fitness

Every room has a Hotel Republic yoga mat for in-room practice or the Saturday morning yoga class on the terrace.

A fitness center with the latest weights and cardio equipment stays open around-the-clock. Pick up a map from the front desk that outlines both 2- and 5-mile runs along the bay or grab a bike rental to head out on the town.
