Before You Buy: Important Disney World Discount Ticket Purchasing Tips

Before purchasing any tickets for Walt Disney World, there are several considerations to consider.

Decide how many days you need tickets for

First, you need to decide on how many days you need tickets for, which does not necessarily need to coincide with the duration of your stay.

Walt Disney World has four theme parks, two water parks, and many resort hotels. The entire resort is spread out across 40 square miles, which is a lot of ground to cover. This is one of the facts you will need to consider as you determine what type of tickets you want to buy.

Should you buy Park Hopper© tickets?

You’ll need to choose between tickets for one park per day or tickets that let you experience multiple parks per day. The latter is called a Park Hopper.

Within the Park Hopper category, there are two options. The first is the Park Hopper, and the second is the Park Hopper Plus. Park Hopper Plus tickets provide entry to the Disney water parks.

In Disney Resorts all over the world, parks are located right next to each other and share security. This makes hopping from park to park very easy and a great way to experience both if you have a limited amount of time.

At Walt Disney World, each park has its own security, and the parks are at least 20 minutes apart. The value of splitting your days up between parks is entirely subjective, but the distance between them is something to factor in.

Where to buy discount Walt Disney World tickets? Below, I have detailed the most reliable ways to find a Disney World discount ticket. I specialize in helping people save money at theme parks, so I may be compensated should you make a purchase using the links in this post.

Tips for buying discount Walt Disney World tickets

Buy ONLY From Authorized Walt Disney World Ticket Sellers

Purchasing tickets through a seller you can trust is one of the most important things to remember when you buy discount park tickets for Walt Disney World.

A ticket to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” is an investment and, therefore, subject to counterfeiting. You have to be careful as well because Once a ticket is used, it is connected to the identity of the ticket holder. Never buy a partially used ticket or rent a pass.

Read All Terms And Conditions

Before purchasing discount park tickets for Walt Disney World, be sure to read the terms and conditions. Pay careful attention to the expiration. Verify refund and transfer policies. Lastly, confirm whether your tickets will be printable, if you will receive them by mail, etc.

If It’s Too Good To Be True…

It probably is. You can save a little bit on your vacation by purchasing discounted tickets, but deep cuts in the pricing are a red flag. One-day passes, in particular, are not known to have any special pricing.

Walt Disney World Parking

Walt Disney World has an extensive network of complimentary transportation. It’s possible never to rent a car and never pay for a ride as long as your vacation remains within Walt Disney World Resort. Even the ride from the airport can be complementary.

If you choose to rent a car, be advised that parking is charged at the parks and resorts.

Parking at the theme parks is $25 or $45-$50, depending on your type of vehicle and if you choose standard or preferred parking. Resorts also have parking prices that vary depending on the tier level of your resort (value, moderate, deluxe).

You need only pay once per day for theme park parking, so keep your receipt if you park hop.

1-Day Passes Are Almost Never Discounted

1-day Walt Disney World tickets rarely have discounts, so it’s usually best to buy those directly through Disney.

The exception is that some associations offer discount 1-day passes for teachers, students, military, and other groups.

Child Admission Policies

Children ages two and under receive free entry to Walt Disney World theme parks.

If you have a child between the ages of 3 and 9, buy a child ticket. Anyone 10 years or older requires an adult ticket.
