I’m honored to have been selected as a Hyatt Privé top producer, one of the advisors who book this program at the highest level.
In 2026, that designation sent me to Hyatt’s invitation-only top producer conference. The rest of the year, it’s a lot of work booking clients into Park Hyatts, Grand Hyatts, Andaz hotels, and boutique properties, requesting the upgrades, and staying in plenty of Hyatts myself, New York especially.
I’d like to explain what Hyatt Privé actually delivers, where its limits are, and how to use it on your next stay.

I am a World of Hyatt Globalist as well as a Privé advisor, so this page comes from both sides. I use the status benefits as a guest, and I book the Privé benefits for clients, often on the same stay.
The definition
What Is the Hyatt Privé Program?
Hyatt Privé is Hyatt’s VIP booking program, open by invitation to a small number of luxury travel agencies. Book a participating hotel through one of them, and the room costs what it would cost you on hyatt.com, but the stay includes breakfast for two every morning, a credit to spend at the hotel, and priority on requests that otherwise get decided at the front desk.
Nothing else about the reservation changes. You pay the hotel when you check out, on whatever card you like, and World of Hyatt members earn points and elite-qualifying nights because Hyatt counts the stay as a direct booking.
I do not charge a booking fee, which is worth asking any advisor before you hand over your dates.
What’s included
What Are the Benefits of Booking Hyatt Privé?
Each hotel sets its own version, but a Hyatt Privé reservation generally includes:
- Room upgrade priority. The hotel answers upgrade requests within 24 business hours of booking.
- Daily full breakfast for two. It is served in one of the hotel’s own restaurants, and at all-inclusive resorts meals are already part of the stay.
- A property credit. Applied to incidentals during the stay, such as dining or the spa. The amount is set by each hotel. Park Hyatt Aviara and Andaz San Diego each run $100 per stay, and Hotel 50 Bowery in New York runs $75.
- Early check-in and late checkout priority. Check-in as early as 9 a.m. and checkout as late as 4 p.m., each requested separately and subject to availability.
- Connecting rooms priority. For families this often matters more than the upgrade, because connecting rooms are the first thing to disappear on busy dates.
- A welcome letter and amenity. The hotel’s leadership welcomes you by name on arrival. I can also write you a personal welcome letter and have the hotel deliver it with your amenity.
- Privé-only offers. Some hotels discount the rate further through the program. These come and go by property and by date, and you will see them in my booking tool.
None of it changes the room price. The rate is the hotel’s own standard rate, the same one you would find booking direct.
The signature benefit
How the Privé Room Upgrade Actually Works
Most VIP programs settle the upgrade at check-in, which means you find out at the front desk with your bags in hand. Privé answers before you travel. You book the room first, and the hotel comes back within about 24 business hours with a yes or a no, which I pass straight to you. I can usually check what is open before you book, though the category above can sell out in between.
A standard room usually will not move into a suite, and it usually will not move into a club room either. Premium suites like the Presidential are always excluded, some hotels do not upgrade suites at all, and the all-inclusive resorts sit outside this benefit entirely. A few properties go further than the program requires. I check where a hotel lands before you book.
That is why the room you reserve matters. At Andaz San Diego the room to book is the Deluxe King, because that is the category Privé clears into the Andaz Suite when the hotel has one. At The Seabird in Oceanside we book the Partial Ocean View most often, because the upgrade moves you up a view category from there. Book the entry-level room at either hotel and the upgrade has nowhere to take you.
Points, nights, and status
How Privé Stacks With World of Hyatt
A Privé reservation is a direct Hyatt booking. You earn World of Hyatt points and elite-qualifying nights, your status is recognized on arrival, and where the two programs overlap, Hyatt gives you the better of the two benefits.
On my own stay at Andaz San Diego, the Globalist breakfast and late checkout ran exactly as they always do, and the Privé credit landed on top of everything status already gave me.
There are limits. Privé cannot be combined with member, AAA, corporate, prepaid, or award rates, or with another program’s benefits, and it does not apply to wholesale bookings. On some dates a member or prepaid rate prices below the standard rate with no benefits attached, and when that math is better for you, I say so.

Why me
Why Book Hyatt Through Me
Hotels are the whole of my business, which is how I have come to know these properties one at a time. Every Hyatt runs the program a little differently, so the details that matter are the specific ones: how much the credit is worth at that hotel and what you are allowed to spend it on, and which room you need to book for the upgrade to have somewhere to go.
I also know the people inside Hyatt, and they know me. As one of the program’s top producers, when I call a hotel about connecting rooms, a quiet floor, or a birthday, I am speaking to someone who knows my name.
Your booking then stays with me from the day it is made until you check out.
Getting started
Three Ways to Book Hyatt
No. 01
Book it yourself with my tool
My online booking tool shows Hyatt Privé rates next to the standard ones. Request the password (it arrives immediately by email), book the Privé rate, and the benefits attach automatically.
No. 02
Rather have me handle it?
Send me your dates and the hotel, or ask for a shortlist. I book the Privé rate, put the upgrade and timing requests in, and stay on the reservation through checkout.
No. 03
Already booked?
A refundable Hyatt reservation can usually be rebooked on the Privé rate with the benefits attached. Forward your confirmation and I will work out whether the switch is worth making.

How to Book Hyatt Privé
Request the password, open the tool, and book the Privé rate for your dates. The benefits attach automatically, and because the booking still comes through my agency, I can take care of anything you need once it is made.

Hyatt Privé FAQs
Program Basics
What does it cost to book with Hyatt Privé?
Nothing beyond the room rate. The rate is the hotel’s standard flexible rate, you pay the hotel directly at checkout with any card you like, and Hyatt compensates my agency for the booking. There is no fee and no markup.
Does every Hyatt participate in Hyatt Privé?
No. Twenty brands take part, and within those brands it is set hotel by hotel, so a Park Hyatt in one city participates while a Regency in another does not. Send me the hotel and I will tell you.
Are there minimum stays?
Often, yes. Park Hyatt, Miraval, Andaz, and Thompson generally have none, most other brands ask for two nights, and the all-inclusive resorts ask for four. The table above has the full breakdown.
Is there a Hyatt Privé login for travelers?
No. The Privé site is a booking portal for advisors, which is why searching for a login leads back to pages like this one. You access the program two ways: book the Privé rate yourself through my online booking tool, or have me book it for you.
The Upgrade & Benefits
When do I find out about my room upgrade?
Within about 24 business hours of booking, from the hotel, and I pass the answer straight to you.
How does the property credit work?
It applies to incidentals during your stay, such as dining or spa treatments, and the amount is set by each hotel. It does not apply to the room rate, taxes, gratuities, or resort fees.
Can I personalize the welcome amenity or letter?
Yes. I can suggest an amenity to the hotel, and I can write a personal welcome letter up to five days before check-in that the hotel delivers on my behalf.
World of Hyatt
Do I earn World of Hyatt points and elite nights on a Privé booking?
Yes. The reservation is treated as a direct Hyatt booking, so points, elite-qualifying nights, and status recognition all apply.
Can I book with points and still get Privé benefits?
No. Privé books on a paid rate, so a stay on points or a free night certificate cannot carry the benefits. It works the other way as well, in that paying for a Privé stay is what earns you the points and the elite-qualifying nights. When you are deciding whether to redeem or pay for a particular set of dates, send them to me and I will tell you which one comes out ahead.
I am a Globalist. Is Privé still worth it?
Usually. The two stack, and where they overlap you get the better of the two. Your Globalist breakfast and late checkout run as always, while Privé adds the property credit and an upgrade answer at the time of booking.
Can Privé be combined with member rates or promotions?
No. It books on the standard flexible rate, so it cannot be layered onto member, AAA, corporate, prepaid, or award rates, or onto another program’s benefits.
Comparisons
Should I book Virtuoso or Hyatt Privé?
At a Hyatt, book Privé. The two benefit lists look almost identical on screen, which is why this question comes up so often, and I see people pick Virtuoso or another program’s rate in my booking tool by accident all the time. Privé is Hyatt’s own VIP program, so it takes priority at the property, and the room upgrade is answered when you book. If you have already booked a Hyatt on another program’s rate, send it over and I will move it.
How does Hyatt Privé compare to Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts or booking direct?
This is the comparison I walk clients through. All three are legitimate ways to book a Hyatt, and they deliver different things.
| Benefit | Hyatt Privé (through me) | Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts | Booking Direct |
|---|---|---|---|
| Room rate | The hotel’s standard flexible rate | Comparable to the standard rate | The standard rate, or a member rate |
| Room upgrade | Answered within 24 business hours of booking | At check-in, subject to availability | Elite status only, at check-in |
| Daily breakfast for two | Yes, full breakfast at a restaurant | Yes | Globalist status only |
| Property credit | Yes, amount set by each hotel | Yes, a $100 experience credit | None |
| World of Hyatt points and elite nights | Yes, treated as a direct booking | No, it books through Amex Travel | Yes |
| Card required | None | Amex Platinum or Centurion | None |
| When it is the right choice | Almost any participating Hyatt stay | When a guaranteed 4 p.m. checkout or an Amex credit matters most | When you would rather keep it simple, or a member rate prices lower |
Where a guaranteed late checkout is the deciding factor, an Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts booking can be the better fit for that stay. I will tell you when that is the case.
Booking Process
Can I book the Privé rate myself?
Yes. My online booking tool shows Hyatt Privé rates alongside the standard ones. Request the password, which arrives immediately by email, then book the Privé rate and the benefits attach automatically.
How do I book with you?
Send your dates, your party, and the hotel through my request page, or reply to any email from me. Your confirmation comes from Hyatt, with my agency attached to the reservation.
What if I already have a Hyatt reservation?
Forward it to me. A refundable booking can usually be rebooked on the Privé rate with the benefits attached, though a prepaid or discounted rate sometimes makes the switch a bad trade.
Can you request connecting rooms or a specific room?
Yes. Connecting-room requests get the same 24-hour answer from the hotel, and room or floor preferences travel with the reservation for me to follow up with my contacts at the property.
Choosing a Hotel
Which Hyatt should I choose?
Start with my reviews above if San Diego, Maui, or New York is on the map. Otherwise, tell me the trip. A Park Hyatt and a Standard are both Privé hotels and almost nothing alike, so the useful conversation is about who is traveling with you.
Is it better to book direct or through you?
The rate is the same either way, so the real question is whether you want breakfast, the credit, and an early upgrade answer attached to it. Direct wins in one case, which is a discounted member or prepaid rate that Privé is not allowed to match.
If you have a Hyatt in mind, send it over with your dates and I will tell you what that hotel gives Privé guests. If you would rather book it yourself, open my booking tool and choose the Hyatt Privé rate.
