Dog-Friendly Hotels in Los Angeles by Neighborhood

Amenities for pets that humans will be jealous of

This site generates income via purchases made through links to carefully-curated travel and lifestyle brands.

Many families, including ours, bring their four-footed and winged members along on vacations. L.A., in particular, is a great destination for a ‘petcation’ because there are a number of dog-friendly hotels in Los Angeles and pet-friendly hotels in Los Angeles.

Some of the nicest hotels in the city are actually the ones most likely to not just welcome pups, cats, birds, and even reptiles, but to also have special amenities for their non-human guests.

For instance, Four Seasons — their two Los Angeles hotels are among my personal favorites — places luxurious pet beds and tasty treats in rooms where dogs and cats will be staying, and the concierge can arrange dog-walking and grooming services or point you in the direction of the best dog parks in L.A.

I put together this list so you don’t have to leave Fido out of the fun on your next vacation. Whether you plan to take your pet along on your Los Angeles sightseeing adventures or they’ll relax in-room while you’re out and about, these pet-friendly hotels in Los Angeles (which I’ve listed by neighborhood) will take great care of everyone in your family.

And, you can book in with some value-added benefits at no extra cost to you, in some cases.

Tips for Booking Dog- and Pet-Friendly Hotels in LA

Booking a pet- or dog-friendly hotel in LA is simple whether you’re visiting Los Angeles with young kids or if it will just be you and your pet. The most important thing you can do is call to confirm the availability of pet-friendly rooms and then pre-book to ensure you get one.

Here are some additional tips to help you choose between pet- and dog-friendly hotels in Los Angeles.

Research Fees

Some properties don’t require families staying with pets to pay an additional fee, but many do. This is usually a non-refundable cleaning fee, but may also cover special amenities for pets like food, treats, and toys.

Be Aware of Restrictions

Most pet-friendly hotels in Los Angeles have rules about what types of pets are welcome and how big they can be. Some welcome all dogs and cats, birds, rabbits, and other critters while others only allow dogs (and then only breeds up to a certain weight).

Choose a Ground Floor Room

While not always ideal, staying in a ground-level room guarantees your pup’s playtime antics won’t bother your fellow guests. It may make getting outside for walks and bathroom breaks easier, too.

Know the Rules

Even the most pet-friendly hotels in Los Angeles will have rules of conduct for four-legged guests and their humans. For instance, some hotels don’t allow guests to leave their pets in rooms unattended.

Be a Good Guest

Accidents happen, so be ready to clean up after your pet. Some hotels provide wee-wee pads for pups, but you may need to bring your own. Don’t let your dog track mud into the hotel, and notify the front desk right away if your pet causes any damage to the room.
