Perched above Elliott Bay with unobstructed views of the water and Olympic Mountains, Four Seasons Hotel Seattle is the city’s premier luxury hotel. Blending sleek, contemporary design with the brand’s signature warmth and service, it feels equally suited to business travelers, romantic getaways, and family vacations.

I’ve been booking this hotel a good amount for clients lately so it’s time to review what I know about it. The location is unbeatable for exploring downtown’s best offerings on foot. The rooftop pool, acclaimed Pacific Northwest cuisine, and intuitive service make this a standout choice for travelers who want a refined base in the heart of the city.

  • Seasonal rooftop pool with fire pits and sweeping views of Elliott Bay
  • Incredibly friendly staff and high standard of Four Seasons service
  • Stylish, spacious rooms with deep soaking tubs and floor-to-ceiling windows
  • Goldfinch Tavern serves a fantastic brunch and one of the better hotel breakfasts in the city

  • On-site spa with treatments that incorporate regional ingredients

Good to Know

  • The rooftop pool is heated but only open seasonally (typically spring through fall)
  • It’s a city hotel, so don’t expect expansive grounds or gardens
  • Higher floors offer the best views—some lower-floor rooms face buildings or alleyways
  • This is a popular spot for weddings and events, especially on weekends

Delicious Dining

Four Seasons Hotel Seattle offers a refined dining experience that highlights the flavors of the Pacific Northwest, whether you prefer a waterfront table or breakfast in bed.

Goldfinch Tavern

Goldfinch Tavern, the hotel’s signature restaurant, is an Ethan Stowell concept with a focus on locally sourced seafood and seasonal ingredients. The airy dining room features waterfront views and a warm, tavern-style ambiance. Guests praise the weekend brunch and weekday happy hour. Popular menu items include Dungeness crab cakes, clam chowder, and grilled king salmon.

Private dining is available in two event rooms, Vashon and Whidbey, for more intimate occasions.

In-Room Dining

The hotel offers 24-hour in-room dining with a well-curated menu of local favorites, healthy options, and comfort food. Guests appreciate the timeliness and quality, especially for early mornings or late arrivals.

  • Complimentary Coffee Concierge: Between 6–10 a.m., you can request a freshly brewed coffee delivered to your room—free of charge. A favorite perk for early risers.
  • Tesla House Car: A complimentary Tesla is available to shuttle guests within a 2-mile radius. It’s perfect for reaching nearby restaurants or the cruise port.
  • Fran’s Chocolates in the Lobby: A boutique location of Seattle’s beloved chocolatier is just off the lobby. Try the salted caramels—they’re a presidential favorite.
  • Visit Pike Place Early: The market is just a block away. Go in the morning to avoid crowds and see the famous fish-throwers in action.
  • Seasonal Pool: The rooftop infinity pool is stunning, but only open in warmer months. Plan accordingly if that’s a priority.

Luxury Amenities & Services

Four Seasons Hotel Seattle delivers a well-rounded luxury experience with amenities that cater to both leisure and business travelers.

Spa

The full-service spa channels a serene, Pacific Northwest vibe, offering treatments incorporating native botanicals and natural elements. The signature river rock massage and deep-tissue therapies are popular after long travel days or urban exploring.

I suggest allowing enough time before and after treatments to unwind in the relaxation lounge or eucalyptus steam room.

Pool

Sunset hues over the outdoor pool which is a guest highlight.

The rooftop infinity-edge pool is one of the hotel’s signature features. Heated year-round, it feels like it floats above Elliott Bay, with the Olympic Mountains rising in the distance and ferries gliding by below.

As you can see in the above photo, the scene changes with the weather: moody and dramatic in the mist, golden and glowing at sunset. Poolside service is available during warmer months, and cozy loungers make it an appealing spot even in cooler seasons.

Fitness Center

Open 24 hours, the fitness center includes Peloton bikes, free weights, cardio machines, and strength-training equipment. Amenities like bottled water, towels, and headphones are provided.

Family Amenities

The hotel offers family-friendly services including cribs, high chairs, baby toiletries, childproofing items, and babysitting by arrangement. Kids also receive welcome gifts on arrival.
