If you would like to enjoy the most luxurious San Diego beach resort vacation possible, Beach Village at The Del is definitely where you should stay.
This private enclave of 78 secluded, beachfront guest rooms and suites is part of the Hotel del Coronado. However, Beach Village at The Del guests enjoy more privileges than main resort guests.
Let me put on my travel advisor hat and show you why you should stay here. I know more about these accommodations than most because not a day goes by (even now) when I’m not walking someone through the decision of what room or suite to choose.
Note: Between California travel restrictions and Hotel del Coronado’s multi-year $400 million renovations, there is a lot to know before you book. Refer to this what to expect when you stay page when you book and right before your stay. If you book through the links to Hilton in this post or through my services, I may be compensated.
Luxurious Residential-Style Guest Rooms and Suites
Welcome to your beach home away from home.
Beach Village at The Del accommodations look like you’ve just stepped into a magazine. Amenities in the guest rooms and one- to three-bedroom suites include fully-appointed bedrooms, a patio or balcony (most with ocean views), turndown service, stone tile flooring, state-of-the-art entertainment, 400-thread-count linens, and more.
Suites with designer kitchens even have Sub Zero refrigerators and stainless steel Wolf ranges. And, some suites have outdoor fire pits and soaking tubs. How romantic.
Private Entrances and Gated Access
Guests of Beach Village at The Del have a private entrance and receive a VIP greeting upon check-in that includes a property tour to help guests become acquainted with the property.
Gated access means that only guests of Beach Village at The Del may access the property which provides not only extra security but a quieter beachfront experience. (The main resort can be busy during peak season.)
Personal Concierge Services
The highly-personalized service begins before check-in if you like. A Host Concierge will organize all aspects of your stay and even stock your refrigerator full of favorite items.

Private Chef Dinners
Book a suite with a kitchen and have a Hotel del Coronado chef prepare a multi-course meal completely tailored to your tastes.
Enjoy it in the comfort of your Beach Village suite paired with wines or craft cocktails.
Other Beach Village dining options include in-room dining, the poolside Breezes Grill, and the fantastic Hotel del Coronado restaurants.
Windsor Beach Club
The Windsor Beach Club is a private area that is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day posh seating (styled by Room and Board) with full food and beverage service on the gorgeous sands of Del Beach.
Secluded Pools and Gorgeous Cabanas
While plunge pools and hot tubs are scattered throughout the property, the main Beach Village pool has cabanas with a sofa, 47-inch TV, amenity basket, complimentary drinks, and fresh fruit.
Access to Hotel del Coronado Amenities
Hotel del Coronado offers guests a wide range of amenities including a full-service spa (that I love), shops, restaurants, bike and beach rentals, fitness classes like sunrise yoga on the beach, and more that Beach Village guests will certainly want to take advantage of.
VIP Perks at Fashion Valley Mall
Guests of Beach Village at The Del receive complimentary valet parking at Fashion Valley Mall, two hours of personal shopping services and a Fashion Valley tote.
(I also have a special Destination Passport booklet of hundreds of dollars of savings at Fashion Valley Mall for clients who book San Diego hotels through me.)
Make Beach Village at The Del Reservations with Extra Perks
I book the Hotel del Coronado for readers quite a bit, so I can tell you that Beach Village prices tend to start around $799/night plus tax and a $35/night resort fee (and are subject to change based on availability and season). During the summer, expect the base room to start around $1000/night.
You can stop looking for Beach Village promo codes and discounts because I have the best way for you to book in. Hotel del Coronado is a Virtuoso property, which means that I can book you into Beach Village with amenities that currently include:
- Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability (room upgrades are not possible in Beach Village)
- Daily breakfast credit of $40 per person for two guests per bedroom
- $100 USD equivalent Food & Beverage credit to be utilized during stay (not combinable, not valid on room rate, no cash value if not redeemed in full)
- Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
Send me your dates and I’d be happy to book you in with Virtuoso amenities if they make sense. You will earn Hilton Honors points with a Virtuoso booking.
If you choose to book through Hilton, you can earn Hilton Honors points for your stay, redeem Hilton Honors points for your stay, or book with the Hilton Honors discount.
But, if you’re going through Hilton for the latter, check with me first. Lately, the Virtuoso rate is either the same or better than the Hilton Honors rate. Plus, you get the perks!
Please note: A $400 million renovation is underway, and construction is visible around Hotel del Coronado. Guests continue to book in and have a great time.
Beach Village: The Bottom Line
The reason for this post is to put Beach Village at The Del on your radar as it addresses what people find difficult about choosing a San Diego hotel:
- It is a beachfront luxury San Diego resort.
- It is quieter and more private than the main resort.
- Accommodations can have kitchens and up to three bedrooms.
- It is suitable for family travel, multigenerational travel and extended stays.
- It is the nicest possible way to enjoy a resort beach vacation in San Diego.
