The LEGOLAND California Christmas event is called Christmas Bricktacular, and it runs from November 21, 2026, through January 3, 2027. It comes with a regular park ticket, so the holiday shows, characters, and fireworks don’t cost extra.

I joined Carmen on her holiday visit and updated this guide for the 2026 season.

It doesn’t run every day in that stretch, though, and fireworks happen on only some event nights, so start with the dates below.

Christmas Bricktacular 2026 at a Glance

  • Dates: Nov. 21–29; Dec. 5–6, 12–13, and 19–31; Jan. 1–3
  • Fireworks: Dec. 5 and 12, then nightly Dec. 19–31
  • Kids’ New Year’s Eve: Dec. 31
  • Hours on event days: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (7 p.m. Dec. 19–Jan. 2)
  • Admission: included with park tickets
  • Standard annual pass: blocked out Nov. 21–30, Dec. 19–20, and Dec. 26–31

Is LEGOLAND Worth It at Christmas?

If your kids are somewhere between 2 and 12, it’s a good way to get the holidays and a full park day in one ticket. LEGOLAND designs the whole resort for that age range, and it says the holiday event features gentle rides, building activities, and shows for little ones. Children under 2 get in free.

Christmas Bricktacular is a regular LEGOLAND day with holiday layers on top: decorations, holiday shows, character meet-and-greets, seasonal treats, and fireworks on some nights.

It isn’t a separate evening event, and the park still closes at 6 or 7 p.m.

How LEGOLAND Christmas Tickets Work

There is no separate holiday ticket. Any LEGOLAND California ticket for an event date gets you into Christmas Bricktacular, and LEGOLAND’s own one-day and two-day tickets include SEA LIFE Aquarium too. What changes is which deal makes the most sense for your family:

  • Visiting with kids by Christmas: LEGOLAND’s Kids Go Free offer gives one free one-day child ticket with each full-price adult ticket for visits through December 25, 2026, and LEGOLAND advertises it with no blockout dates. Each purchase is capped at three free kids’ tickets, so three full-price adults and three free kids is the most you can buy at once. The adult pays the gate price, so compare it with the discounted tickets below before you buy. LEGOLAND is also running a separate sale on kids’ tickets that ends November 1.
  • Booking a LEGOLAND hotel: the Hotel + Ticket package includes the holiday season if you book by November 1, 2026.
  • Planning three or more visits this year: an annual pass can pay for itself, but check its blockout dates first.
  • Everyone else: start with the ticket options below, then see our guide to buying LEGOLAND California tickets, which compares the ways to save.

If You Have a LEGOLAND Annual Pass

Your pass gets you into Christmas Bricktacular on any date it isn’t blocked out. The pass level is what matters:

  • Premium and Preferred: both work on every Christmas Bricktacular date, including Kids’ New Year’s Eve.
  • Standard: blocked out November 21–30, December 19–20, and December 26–31. That leaves December 5–6, 12–13, and 21–25, plus January 1–3. Standard passholders can buy discounted tickets for blockout days.
  • Older Elite, Platinum, Gold, and Silver passes: LEGOLAND keeps a separate calendar for these, so check it before you go.

Parking is another difference. Preferred and Premium include free regular parking, and Standard doesn’t.

LEGOLAND says blockout dates can change, so check its passholder calendar close to your visit. If you’re still deciding which pass to buy, see our annual pass comparison.

Holiday Shows

This season’s holiday shows include:

  • The Nutcracker Marching Band at The Beginning, with the new LEGO Nutcracker and the LEGOLAND Brass Band.
  • Once Upon a Brickmas on Castle Hill, where Bagsy and Sweeps retell the tale of the Wizard and the hill’s first snow.
  • Brickmas (W)rap Battle Show, new this year, turns wrapping presents into a rap battle with music, dancing, and challenges the audience can join.

Showtimes shift with the park’s closing time, so check the LEGOLAND app for the day’s schedule.

Meet Holiday LEGO Characters

Kids can take “elfies” with holiday LEGO characters, including:

  • Reindeer Girl
  • Snowman
  • LEGO Santa
  • Elves Ivy and Frode
  • Gingerbread Guy, at his house with his elf bakers
  • New this year: Yeti and the LEGO Nutcracker

Holiday Activities and Photo Spots

Look for the 35-foot LEGO Christmas tree near the entrance, which LEGOLAND built from 366,481 LEGO and DUPLO bricks. LEGO Santa poses for photos with his sleigh and reindeer, and the larger-than-life LEGO wreath is another good spot for a family photo.

New this year, LEGOLAND has added several holiday experiences:

  • Reindeer Refuel, a reindeer barn where kids feed the LEGO reindeer and build “Magic Carrots” from LEGO bricks.
  • Gingerbread Station, where kids follow prompts to finish a holiday recipe that sets off lights, sounds, and the smell of gingerbread.
  • Elf Choir, a LEGO musical rig where kids help make the sounds of the season.
  • Holiday touches on the LEGO Galacticoaster in the new LEGO Galaxy land.
  • Yeti’s Brick Build and Holiday Lights.

In past years, the park also ran a Build to Give Workshop. Guests built LEGO hearts, and for each one shared on social media with #BuildtoGive, LEGO donated a set to children in need. LEGOLAND doesn’t list it for 2026, so check its holiday page before you plan around it.

Holiday Treats

LEGOLAND serves limited-time holiday treats during Christmas Bricktacular, and staff or Guest Services can point you to allergy-friendly options.

Past holiday menus included a festive version of the park’s Granny’s Apple Fries, topped with vanilla soft serve, chocolate sauce, graham cracker crumbs, and toasted marshmallows. There was also a Sleighride Churro Sundae at the Churro Stand and a Frosted Pineapple Breeze mocktail at Knight’s Smokehouse BBQ.

Christmas Fireworks

Fireworks are on December 5 and 12, then every night from December 19 through 31, including Christmas Day. There are no fireworks on the other event dates, so pick one of these nights if the show is on your list. Check the LEGOLAND app for the show time on the day you visit.

Kids’ New Year’s Eve at LEGOLAND California

On December 31, the park adds live music, a countdown, and an early fireworks display, so families can celebrate without missing bedtime. My toddler loved the fireworks, especially how close they are.

It’s included with park tickets and with Preferred and Premium passes. Standard passes are blocked out that day.

Stay Overnight at the Two LEGOLAND Hotels

The LEGOLAND Hotel and LEGOLAND Castle Hotel are within a few steps of the SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND theme park entrances, so you can go back to the room for a nap or an early night. Hotel guests also get early access to select rides before the park opens to the public.

Every room at both LEGO-themed hotels has a separate sleeping area for kids. Castle Hotel rooms fit five or seven guests, and at the LEGOLAND Hotel the number depends on the room.

If you book by November 1, 2026, LEGOLAND’s Hotel + Ticket package covers stays through January 9, 2027. It includes two-day Hopper tickets for the theme park and SEA LIFE Aquarium, valid during Christmas Bricktacular.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Check the calendar before you book. The park is closed on some weekdays between event dates, such as December 2 and 9, and on some non-event days it closes at 4:30 p.m. The park calendar has every day’s hours.
  • About weekdays. LEGOLAND says weekdays usually mean shorter lines and a quieter park. During Christmas Bricktacular, though, the weekday event dates all fall in Thanksgiving week or the weeks around Christmas and New Year’s.
  • Download the LEGOLAND app. It has live wait times, showtimes, and any ride or restaurant closures for the day.
  • Bring layers. When we arrived in the early afternoon, we were surprised by the fog, and it can get cold, so a jacket or hat helps.
  • Start little ones at the DUPLO Little Dino Trail. My toddler loved driving the little car. It’s the closest ride to the entrance, so the line may be longer than at other rides. Check the wait time in the app before you join it.
  • Fastrack is a paid extra if you want to skip the regular line on select rides. Our LEGOLAND Fastrack guide explains how it works.
  • Add SEA LIFE Aquarium. SEA LIFE Aquarium is next to the park, and LEGOLAND’s own one-day and two-day tickets include it. If you bought another way, check your ticket type.
