Request Rates ›The bay beaches are calm and shallow, good for small kids. The ocean beach has surf and lifeguards. Many visitors mistake one for the other, so check which your hotel faces.
Plenty of bay resorts are not within walking distance of the ocean beach. The Hyatt Regency is about a 20-minute walk; Paradise Point is not. Confirm before you book.
The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay and Paradise Point are both about a mile and a half from the park, the easiest bases if SeaWorld is the main event.
Beach parking is hard to come by. If you're staying on the bay and can't walk, take an Uber to the ocean beach rather than circling for a spot.
You do not need to pay gate price. Buy online in advance; there's rarely a discount at the gate. SeaWorld often runs online promotions.
July through October has the best weather. For lower rates, come the shoulder seasons: September after Labor Day into early November, or January through mid-March.
