When searching for hotels near Beijing airport, definitely consider the Hilton Beijing Capital Airport hotel. Our layover in Beijing (en route to San Diego from Shanghai) required spending the night, and I’m so glad we chose this hotel.
And, because we spent ten days in China’s capital on the front end of our trip, there was no pressure to sightsee. We stayed put at the hotel for a night to decompress in anticipation of a long haul flight home.
The amenities and our room at this Beijing airport hotel exceeded my expectations. If you book here, definitely opt for Club Level rooms. I’ll tell you why.

Take the Free Shuttle From Beijing Airport
The Hilton Beijing Capital Airport is easy to get to from PEK (Beijing Capital Airport). It is not a hotel in Beijing airport, but it’s one of the closest.
The hotel’s complimentary airport shuttle runs every 20 minutes from Terminal 3 and every 30 minutes from Terminal 5.
The time to the hotel on the shuttle is about five minutes. The hotel’s instructions say to exit the airport on the first floor in front of Gate 5 (Terminal 3) or Gate 3 (Terminal 2).
Cross the street, and the shuttle arrives at the second drive lane. We saw a sign for Hilton designating where we should wait.
The shuttles depart from the hotel on a certain schedule, so you should call down to see when it leaves for your terminal, especially if you’re cutting it close. Unfortunately, our departure from Beijing equaled long security lines at the airport, even though we flew business class.
We could see planes taking off from our room, which is quite scenic.
The Hotel Will Store Luggage
Let’s say we did some shopping in Beijing. As baggage restrictions are a bit tight domestically on Air China, we asked Hilton Beijing Capital Airport to store our extra bags for a week while we traveled to Shanghai. We’d retrieve them upon return to Beijing and checking into the hotel.
They said that, yes, they can absolutely do this. I was expecting this request to endure a few hiccups but none emerged. I instructed our Blacklane car service (it works particularly well in China) to make a stop here before dropping us at the airport.
BLACKLANE SAVINGS
Use promo code 1WVK908F on your first Blacklane ride and we’ll both save 20%.
The bellman took our bags and gave us a claim ticket. A week later, they were delivered to our room after check-in. This is so incredibly helpful and worthwhile for travelers in a similar situation. Use promo code 1WVK908F on your first Blacklane ride and we’ll both save 20%.
Rooms Are Spacious
I didn’t have much time to photograph our King Duplex Suite (or much of anything else around the hotel) but the rooms are decorated like this.
The duplex has one king bedroom with en suite bathroom and a living room downstairs with another king bedroom and en suite bathroom upstairs.
It is just shy of 1400 square feet and an excellent option for larger families. They can put a rollaway bed in the downstairs bedroom or living room.
However, I suspect that someone could sleep comfortably on the sofa. The duplex comes with Club Lounge access for four people.
I Highly Recommend the Hilton Beijing Capital Airport Club Lounge
I wasn’t sure what to expect at the Hilton Beijing Capital Airport Club Lounge but in the end I was so glad we had it. Our flight landed in the late afternoon so we arrived in time to enjoy drinks and dinner.
The buffet included tea, coffee, soft drinks, juice, wine and DIY cocktails in addition to a small salad bar, cheese and charcuterie, baked goods, a handful of entrees and Chinese dishes, and dessert.
The hotel’s General Manager was in the lounge greeting guests when we were there. I think this is a nice touch. Television screens showcase departing flight times.
Breakfast here is also very nice. It includes a cold buffet with fruit, pastries, cereal, and more accompanied by made-to-order eggs, won ton soup, and other morning favorites.
There aren’t really many easily-accessible restaurants in this part of Beijing, so you would likely eat in the hotel anyway. So, you may as well enjoy a simple buffet with good food and adult beverages for a slightly higher rate.
You Can Use the Pool, Spa, and Fitness Center Amenities
We regrettably didn’t have a chance to use the indoor hotel pool but it is very nice. As it can get quite hot in Beijing during summer, a pool is a must-have when in Beijing with kids.

The spa offers traditional treatments in addition to Chinese acupressure style massages. I remember the menu I saw as reasonably-priced and wished I had time for some foot reflexology.
Or, Opt for the Hotel Bar and Restaurants
If you opt to skip the Club Lounge, the Hilton Beijing Capital Airport has several other dining options including two Chinese restaurants and casual Western options in addition to the stylish Long Bar.
The space is divided so that one end of the bar is livelier with entertainment while the other end is quieter.
Here’s What Else you Should Know
Domestic flights within China are often delayed. In fact, many flights during our trip were canceled due to weather and other reasons.
Do not schedule tight connections. Like us, you might be better off overnighting at a hotel near Beijing airport.
A souvenir shop inside the hotels sells some of the trinkets, and Qi Pao dresses one might find in a local market.
Many people do book in and leave for sightseeing in central Beijing. Beijing Airport Rail Link takes travelers to the city center in 16 minutes, and you’d board just a few minutes from the hotel. There are even a few golf courses nearby.
Our stay was certainly not long, but it was a very easy one. Staff members were courteous, quick, and helpful. I would stay here again if I ever need a Beijing airport hotel.
