Beijing, China, is one of our favorite destinations. With ancient treasures like The Forbidden City, the Great Wall of China, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, and Tiananmen Square, it’s easy to see the allure. Beijing is also known for its futuristic architecture, ever-changing cultural scene, and a dizzying array of culinary options. When it’s time to recharge from the fast pace of this cosmopolitan city, you can escape into one of these ten best Beijing hotels.

The traditional English-country décor is surprising and inviting. The Lounge, an English manor home escape, offers Chess Board Afternoon Tea where you can experiment pairing teas with French Valrhona chocolates. It’s through some of the hotel’s other amenities that The Ritz-Carlton connects with its Chinese host city.

The Ritz-Carlton Spa provides luxury treatments and ancient healing rituals in seven stylish treatment rooms. An 82-foot lap pool and deck located on the top floor offers an oasis of tranquility. The 24-hour fitness center features TechnoGym equipment, heat and relaxation amenities, and outdoor deck. Yu is a fine-dining experience with Chinese cuisine and a Tea Master. Club Level rooms and suites enjoy the traditional five meal presentations per day in the Club Lounge. I highly recommend that you book this (we did) to enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails/desserts. It’s a delicious and worthwhile upgrade.
