With travel planning becoming increasingly visual, it makes sense that restaurant, activity, and hotel bookings can be driven by what people see on Instagram.
As you might imagine, there are San Diego Instagram hashtags and accounts and completely dedicated to highlighting our amazing cuisine.
If you live in San Diego or are traveling here and are wondering what to eat, have a look at these San Diego food hashtags. Or, maybe you’re the type of person who ‘grams your dinner. Use these hashtags to achieve a broader reach and even earn a chance to be regrammed (featured) by a larger account.
Thousands of people Instagram food in San Diego. I looked for established accounts that are active on a consistent basis, offer professional-quality photography (flat lays and shots that aren’t too close), minimize selfies and/or have roughly over 75% of photographs dedicated to food and drinks at restaurants in San Diego.
This list is meant to be evergreen so I’m happy to add other hashtags and users that fit the profile. Leave suggestions in the comments!
San Diego Food Hashtags
Get ready to gawk at amazing meals and tantalizing treats. Check out these best San Diego food hashtags.
#EatSanDiego
Basically, @Eat_SanDiego is a regram account. I do not know who is behind it. Use the hashtag and they may regram it but more importantly, click on the hashtag to view beautiful food photos.
#YouStayHungrySD
They have a sizable following but a pretty inactive blog. However, the hashtag is excellent and their active Instagram account features regrams often from people I know.
#SDFoodDiaries
The @SDFoodDiaries Instagram account is not active enough for me to pull an example from it, but people continue to use the hashtag which features lovely displays of local eats like these Sheng Jian Bao.
#SDFoodie
I think this is another hashtag that intuitively makes sense to people. If you’re a foodie in San Diego, without much research, you’d probably type in #SDFoodie. Whatever the reason, the feed might make you drool.
#SanDiegoEats
You know, it’s not the most professionally styled feed but I like looking at this hashtag because it’s all about people loving local cuisine. I suspect it’s not a well-researched hashtag meaning that people use it on the fly because it make sense when enjoying San Diego eats.
And, really what more could you ask for?

@HolyMatcha
Just so, so pretty.
@TheCravory
They make my favorite chocolate cookie in town.
@prepkitchen
I adore prepkitchen’s charcuterie and cheese board.

The consistent look of Beaming’s account is something that I have trouble implementing on my own. But, you’ll feel healthy by just looking at their photos. They’re a favorite La Jolla restaurant.
In the interest of full disclosure, I have been given complimentary cleanses (they are fantastic) over the years but have spent way more of my own dime in the cafe and on other cleanses.
