Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, is one of the best theme parks in the United States, thanks to its 14 roller coasters and Soak City Water Park. Rest assured that you can buy discount Kings Island tickets through authorized ticket sellers online and in-person at certain regional retailers.

I’ve outlined all of the methods that I know of here that are popular places to check for savings. This way, you can secure the best discount without searching for promo codes and coupon codes that don’t work.

It’s worth pointing out that many of these options aren’t better than what Kings Island or reliable discount ticket sources offer online (more on this below). Ultimately, how much you save depends on how many tickets you buy and if you will need to account for tax and service fees.

Through my affiliations, you can save on tickets, tours, and hotels. I may be compensated if you purchase through some links in this post—our editorial guidelines.

Kings Island Ticket Gate Prices

Kings Island admission tickets are offered in three types: Daily Tickets and Season Passes. Both can be enhanced with various optional add-ons, including Fast Lane.

General Admission

The price of Kings Island tickets at the gate for a one-day ticket has recently been around $85 and $99, depending on the day and season, for ages 3 and older. Children ages 2 and under are free.

A Kings Island ticket includes admission to their water park, Soak City.

Season Pass

Kings Island offers three different Season Passes as well. Season Passes provide unlimited admission through the end of the calendar year of the purchase or for the summer months. If you plan to go more than once during a season, these may be the most beneficial option.

Fast Lane

You can upgrade your tickets or season pass before you go or at the park to include Fast Lane or Fast Lane Plus. Depending on which one you choose, you can bypass the regular lines on your favorite rides and attractions once or unlimited times.

The bottom line: Front gate prices are higher than what can be secured online, so whatever you do, make sure to purchase tickets in advance.

1. Direct Kings Island Special Offers and Tickets Online

Kings Island offers ticket promotions and a handful of other special offers.

Gate prices are $85/ages 3+. Online, they use dynamic pricing for Daily Tickets and Funday Bundles, which means that the discounted price fluctuates depending on how busy the park anticipates to be on a particular date. Here’s what we see right now online:

  • Park Opening Sale: $34.99 (minimum purchase of 4 tickets required)
  • Daily Tickets: From $44.99
  • Funday Bundle: From $64.99
  • Silver Pass: $110
  • After 4 p.m. ticket: $34.99
  • Bring a Friend Ticket: $34.99

Kings Island charges a $6.99 processing fee plus tax for online purchases, which, in many circumstances, makes the other ticket options below more advantageous.

2. Secret Discount on One-Day and Two-Day Kings Island Tickets

If you need discount Kings Island tickets, you can save by purchasing through aRes Travel. I partner with them because they’re an authorized Kings Island ticket seller. I work with them to provide cheap tickets to other major attractions across the United States, including Cedar Point, Disneyland, and Universal theme parks.

They charge a $2 convenience fee per ticket, but you will still likely come out ahead. Tax is included in the ticket price. For King’s Island and other Cedar Fair parks, we will now have to send you the discounted price and purchasing instructions by text or email. Trust me, it will be worth the extra step to save BIG.

*By texting the word KINGS to 1-833-490-0799 you agree to receive automated promotional messages with how to secure my deeper ticket discount and this agreement isn’t a condition of any purchase. Msg and data rates may apply. 2 msg/mo. Reply STOP to cancel. Read my full privacy policy.

3. Kings Island Tickets and Hotel Packages

Bundle your Kings Island discount tickets with nearby hotels for even more savings. Choose from 30 nearby hotels and whether you’d like one-day, two-day, Ride & Refresh, and parking.

4. Season Passes

Frequent visitors should consider the benefits of a Kings Island Season Pass. It entitles the holder to unlimited park admission for 2024. Season Passholders can arrive an hour before the park opens to the public to enjoy early ride times on select days.

Choose between Gold or Prestige Passes. Both passes include admission to Halloween Haunt and WinterFest, Bring-A-Friend discount tickets, and free parking. However, Prestige offers free preferred parking and 2 FREE Bring-A-Friend tickets. Check to see which works best for you.

Kings Island also has a new promotion in which you can purchase a season pass add-on called the All Park Passport, which grants you access to multiple Cedar Fair parks. Prices start at $100 for the Gold Pass Add-on; you can check all terms and conditions on their information page.

5. Sam’s Club

I checked my Sam’s Club membership, and if you navigate to the Travel and Entertainment hub online for Sam’s Club, you’ll see cheaper Kings Island tickets currently selling for $58.23, including taxes and fees. You do need to be a member to access this price. (However, our secret discount is significantly lower.)

6. Meijer Kings Island Tickets

Select Meijer stores in Ohio typically sell discount Kings Island tickets with Cedar Point tickets. They aren’t available online right now.

7. Costco

You can periodically search Costco’s theme park section online or check in your local store to see if they sell cheap Kings Island tickets. Availability changes, and currently, they do not have tickets available online (and in my experience also not in stores either). This is always subject to change, however.

8. Kings Island Kroger Tickets

You can check your local Kroger store for discounted tickets. However, not all stores offer them. Their tickets tend to be less than at the gate but on par with what we can offer or Kings Island directly.

However, check with the customer service counter at your local store because it might be extra convenient for you to pick up your tickets while shopping.

9. AAA Kings Island Tickets

You can contact your local AAA to see if you can secure discount Kings Island tickets. Availability depends on where you live. To give you an idea, we can’t secure these tickets in California currently, but they are available in the Midwest.

10. Kings Island Military Discounts

If you are active or retired military personnel or a veteran, you are eligible for cheaper single-day tickets than you would otherwise buy at the gate. Kings Island military discounts are valid during every operating day; however, currently, Military Discount Tickets cost $39.99 (saving up to $35 at the gate price). Additionally, veterans and active military personnel are typically granted free admission to the park during Memorial Day weekend.

Take advantage of these savings online, but be sure to register for ID.me. Unless otherwise indicated, these discounts don’t apply to special events like WinterFest.

11. Group Discounts

Gather your friends and head to Kings Island for less. If you need 15 – 99 tickets, you can receive a discount. If you have 100 or more people, the savings are even greater. Details are available on the park’s website.

Important Kings Island Tips

Chaperone Policy

Please note that ages 15 and under need to be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older inside the theme park from 4 p.m. onward. The details on this are subject to change so be sure to check the age requirements before you go.

Check Kings Island Hours

When planning a visit to Kings Island and Soak City water park, check the calendar for opening dates and hours. Both parks are seasonal parks, which means that they are not open year-round. A typical daily season runs from May to Labor Day Weekend for both parks, but Kings Island will stay open on select dates (weekends only, mostly) through November 1.

It’s typically open on weekends only after Labor Day through October or early November for its annual HalloWeekends Halloween celebration and during its Winterfest. However, double-checking the calendar is highly recommended, as hours can fluctuate.

Always Read Ticket Terms and Conditions

Understand the ticket expiration dates, refund policies, and transfer policies and whether they can be used on days with special events.
