As a travel advisor specializing in San Diego family vacations and a mom who’s a paying annual passholder, my advice to you is never pay full price at the gate. Discounted LEGOLAND California tickets are easily purchased online.
The best deal depends on your travel dates, the length of your stay, and whether you’re visiting other attractions, such as SeaWorld San Diego. I help families run the numbers and choose what actually saves them money.
We verify every option below so you can skip the coupon sites that don’t work and go straight to the deals that do.

How Much Time Do You Need?
One full day
That is what most families spend at LEGOLAND California. A half-day works if you’re pressed for time. If you’re visiting with a serious LEGO enthusiast, consider a two-day ticket.
Gate Prices
From $139/person
Don’t pay this price at the gate. For reference, it’s the 1-Day LEGOLAND Theme Park (ages 2+). Kids under 2 are free.
Parking
$40 per car
That is general parking. You can buy parking in advance, and I recommend it. There are no attendants at the entrance, just self-pay kiosks, so having a prepaid ticket ready keeps you from holding up the line.
Understanding LEGOLAND Ticket Types
1-Day or Resort Hopper
1-Day LEGOLAND covers LEGOLAND California and SEA LIFE Aquarium entry. Resort Hopper adds the LEGOLAND Water Park, which is back in spring 2027.
Optional Upgrades
Fastrack
LEGOLAND’s skip-the-line pass comes in four tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum), which you can buy online or at Guest Services. LEGO Galaxy rides are excluded from every tier except Platinum, which adds one-time access to each LEGO Galaxy ride, including Galacticoaster.
VIP Experience
You get a personal host, priority ride access, and exclusive experiences. Book a VIP experience if budget permits.
Check the calendar for your dates before you buy, because the Water Park is seasonal and the theme park is closed on some weekdays in the off-season.
Prices for the 1-Day and Resort Hopper tickets vary by date (dynamic pricing), and some promotions apply only to certain ticket types. The deals in Sections 1 and 2 below are your best starting points, but you’ll want to compare prices for your specific travel dates.

1. Buy Direct Through LEGOLAND California (Save Up to 50%)
BEST DEAL FOR: Visitors with flexible dates, since LEGOLAND’s online price changes by the day
I always check LEGOLAND’s website first for your travel dates. Buying online beats the gate price, and they run regular sales. Here is where LEGOLAND’s prices start today:
- 1-Day LEGOLAND, with SEA LIFE Aquarium included free: from $69, at one price for ages 2 and up (gate price $139)
- 2-Day LEGOLAND, the theme park and SEA LIFE over two visits within three days: from $109, at one price for ages 2 and up (gate price $179)
- Resort Hopper, theme park + Water Park + SEA LIFE on the same day: Sold only on Water Park days, it is off sale until the Water Park reopens in spring 2027.
- Kids’ tickets: LEGOLAND’s sale from $39 with an adult ticket ended November 1. Its Kids Go Free ticket (Section 8) and its kids’ vacation package (Section 5) are the kids’ offers on sale now.

Holiday Tickets: Christmas Bricktacular and Kids’ New Year’s Eve
Christmas Bricktacular is LEGOLAND’s holiday event, and it is included with a regular ticket for an event date. There is no separate event ticket to buy. Kids’ New Year’s Eve, on December 31, works the same way, with an early fireworks show so kids can celebrate before bedtime.

Holiday visits with Kids Go Free or an annual pass
- Kids Go Free: LEGOLAND’s ticket covers visits through December 25 (Section 8).
- Annual passholders get in on any event date that is not a blockout date for their pass. Standard passes are blocked out on many of them, including Thanksgiving week and the days after Christmas, so check the blockout calendar first.
Brick-or-Treat, LEGOLAND’s Halloween event
Brick-or-Treat ended its 2026 run on November 1. It is included with a regular ticket on event dates, and my Brick-or-Treat guide has the details.
2. Authorized Seller: Discount LEGOLAND California Tickets – Save Up to $62
BEST DEAL FOR: A weekend day. LEGOLAND’s own price is lower on some weekdays, so compare your date.
I have a dedicated ticket site for readers, powered by aRes Travel, an authorized LEGOLAND California ticket seller. Weekend prices there are often lower than on LEGOLAND’s website.
1-Day LEGOLAND California + SEA LIFE
It covers one day at the theme park plus SEA LIFE Aquarium, at one price for ages 2 and up. Your tickets are sent directly to your phone, so you can go straight to the gate.

The site’s ticket page does not list a Resort Hopper while the Water Park is closed. It reopens in spring 2027.

3. Go City San Diego (Most Popular Sightseeing Pass)
BEST DEAL FOR: Active sightseeing around San Diego County
A Go City San Diego pass can save you up to 50% on admission if you want to bundle LEGOLAND with other attractions. It’s a digital pass on your phone. LEGOLAND is one of the attractions that need a reservation, which you book in the Go City app before you go.
To include LEGOLAND, you must choose one of these two Go City San Diego passes:
- Essentials Pass: You visit three attractions. LEGOLAND counts as your one premium park, and the other two come from Go City’s list of 12. You have 30 days from activation to use them.
- All-Inclusive Pass Plus: This day-based pass covers LEGOLAND and other major theme parks like SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo, plus 40+ attractions and tours.
Crucial Note: The standard All-Inclusive Pass (without “Plus”) does not include LEGOLAND. Both versions sit side by side at checkout, so confirm “Plus” is in the pass name before you pay.

LEGOLAND reservations on a Go City pass have to be made at least four days ahead, so a pass bought three days before your LEGOLAND day may not work there at all. Buy early enough to make the reservation.
Adding the Water Park to Sightseeing Passes
- Go City includes the LEGOLAND theme park and SEA LIFE Aquarium, but not the Water Park. When the Water Park is open, that is a $30 upgrade on a same-day ticket, and it is not sold on its own. It reopens in spring 2027.
- Pay at the Admissions window. You can also purchase some upgrades in advance.
- Children 12 to 23 months need a $5 Water Park ticket, sold at Water Park Guest Services. Legacy Gold, Platinum, and Elite passholders get one free toddler ticket per pass. LEGOLAND has not said whether the new Standard, Preferred, and Premium passes include it, so ask at Water Park Guest Services.
4. San Diego CityPASS for Specific Attractions
BEST DEAL FOR: Visiting LEGOLAND AND select other museums or theme parks
Another, more limited sightseeing pass choice is the San Diego CityPASS. You pick LEGOLAND California as your anchor park, then choose any three of the six attractions below, and you have nine days to use them all. It makes sense only if you will get to all four, since San Diego Zoo and Safari Park count as one of the three, not two.
Otherwise, you are better off buying discounted LEGOLAND California tickets individually or using Go City San Diego (which has many participating attractions).
The pass types include:
- LEGOLAND California + 3 Attractions
- SeaWorld San Diego + 3 Attractions
- SeaWorld San Diego and LEGOLAND California + 3 Attractions

The code goes in the Voucher Code field on the Checkout step, after guest details. It is for new bookings only, one use per booking, and is not valid at partner hotels or on the Kids Go Free ticket. The ticket type in your package depends on your dates.
LEGOLAND + a nearby hotel
Best if you want a cheaper hotel off-site. Bundling your LEGOLAND California tickets with a nearby hotel through aRes Travel, my authorized partner, often costs less than staying on-site. It is prepaid, with optional package insurance.
LEGOLAND + other San Diego parks
Best if you’re visiting more than LEGOLAND. Bundle LEGOLAND with SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, or Safari Park, plus your hotel. This is ideal with a Carlsbad base, and it is prepaid through aRes Travel, with optional insurance.

Good to know
I genuinely like the LEGOLAND resort hotels, with a couple of caveats. One or two nights is plenty, because, well, it’s not relaxing. 🙂 Most of our clients spend one night here and then move to a different hotel for the rest of their vacation, and the feedback is that one night is about right (that’s how I felt after my stay).

6. Go City Los Angeles Pass
BEST DEAL FOR: Families also visiting Universal Studios
The Go City Los Angeles pass works exactly like the Go City San Diego pass mentioned above. This pass, however, includes some famous theme parks in Los Angeles, like Universal Studios Hollywood. I use Go City sightseeing passes when I travel to major cities.
LEGOLAND California is included in the Los Angeles All-Inclusive Pass Plus, a common pick for families on a Southern California road trip. The same in-app LEGOLAND reservation applies (instructions come with the pass).

A well-known hack among local families is to buy a Premium Pass for one adult (to cover parking and get the steeper dining discounts) and Standard for the others if peak visits aren’t a priority. I did this once. It works only if the Standard blockout dates suit you. Putting everyone on a Premium Pass is so much easier.
Remember that regardless of which pass you choose, you no longer need a passholder reservation (LEGOLAND dropped that requirement in 2026). Just check the blockout calendar before you go. You’ll get access to LEGOLAND’s passholder hub, and the blockout calendar there makes planning easy. I wrote a more in-depth article breaking down the three LEGOLAND annual passes.
Tip from Katie
If you love the park so much during your visit that you want to upgrade to an annual pass, go to Guest Services in The Beginning. You can upgrade on the day of your visit or within 30 days of it. But you must do it in person because it can’t be done online or over the phone.
8. Kids Free San Diego at LEGOLAND: October and Beyond
BEST DEAL FOR: Anyone planning San Diego family vacations this fall or winter, with one child aged 2 to 12 for each paying adult
Kids Free San Diego is the county-wide promotion that runs each October and also covers the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Belmont Park, and dozens of museums. People plan their trips around it. LEGOLAND’s offer for it is the Kids Go Free ticket, and this season’s ticket runs past October, for visits through December 25.
- How it works: Each ticket covers one adult at LEGOLAND’s full gate price plus one child, ages 2 to 12, for LEGOLAND with SEA LIFE on the date you buy it for. There are no blockout dates, and LEGOLAND caps it at three per transaction.
- Is it worth it? One adult and one child pay about what two online tickets in Section 1 cost on LEGOLAND’s lowest-priced dates, and less on its higher-priced ones. Any extra adult or child needs a ticket of their own, so price your party both ways before you buy.
- Where to buy: It is sold online only, on LEGOLAND’s site, and some dates sell out.
- Passes: Neither Go City nor CityPASS qualifies. LEGOLAND confirmed to me that the free child comes bundled with this specific ticket, so a pass has nothing to attach to.
9. Other Free LEGOLAND California Tickets for Kids
STATUS: The year-round Kids Go Free promo code is gone. LEGOLAND’s 2026 Kids Go Free ticket is in Section 8.
LEGOLAND ran a Kids Go Free promo code for years, and it was worth watching because it applied to the combo tickets. Its page was taken down in August 2026.
Two other routes can lower the cost. LEGOLAND’s kids’ vacation package has kids’ tickets from $39 a day while it is still bookable (Section 5). Free kids’ tickets also turn up through McDonald’s and ValuePak from time to time, though they come and go without notice.
10. AAA Discount
BEST DEAL FOR: Hotel discounts. Ticket prices are usually better elsewhere, except for the free parking below.
I’m a member of the Automobile Club of Southern California, exclusively so that I can check and redeem the discounts. The AAA LEGOLAND California tickets deal you get depends on your region.
Currently, if I check my AAA app, I can see a good price on one-day LEGOLAND California tickets that include one general parking space per transaction. The parking comes with the transaction, not with each ticket, so you can buy one AAA ticket for the free parking and buy the rest online through an authorized seller, where they are likely cheaper.
LEGOLAND also publicly offers up to 10% off hotels to AAA members, and your local branch may list offers of its own.
11. Military Discounts
BEST DEAL FOR: United States military, veterans, and their families (thank you for your service)
LEGOLAND California offers several substantial special military discounts that change annually. The military can buy cheaper LEGOLAND California tickets online, and current offers include:
- 1-Day LEGOLAND tickets at a military price, which ID.me lists as up to 35% off
- Resort Hopper tickets at a military price, plus a free second day, on days the Water Park is open (it reopens in spring 2027)
Plus, there is a military discount of up to 10% on the amazing LEGOLAND hotels.
12. First Responders, Nurses, Teachers, Government Workers
BEST DEAL FOR: These service groups, though the discount is usually smaller than the military one
LEGOLAND runs these through ID.me. How much you save depends on which group you verify as. ID.me’s LEGOLAND page lists nurses, first responders, medical providers, teachers, and government employees at up to 20% off.
Teachers should check both places, because the two sources disagree. LEGOLAND’s own teacher page advertises up to 35% off, while the ID.me listing says up to 20%. Compare them against the prices in Sections 1 and 2 for your dates before you commit to either.
Whichever group you fall into, you verify through ID.me at checkout, and these tickets are sold online only. You cannot buy them or verify your status at the gate.
13. Costco Discount LEGOLAND California Tickets
STATUS: Costco.com does not list a LEGOLAND California ticket as of November 2026.
Costco carried a 3-Day Resort Hopper earlier this year, item #2040260, covering the theme park, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and the Water Park, and these listings come and go without notice.
Costco.com is worth a look before you buy elsewhere, because when Costco does carry LEGOLAND it is a multi-day Resort Hopper bundle and it is sold to members only. Check Costco.com with your membership rather than counting on your local warehouse, since plenty of warehouses, mine included, do not stock theme park tickets at all.

14. LEGO Magazine
YOU CAN DO BETTER: Offers within the magazine vary, but online sales can be better depending on your needs.
The LEGO Magazine (formerly the LEGO Club Magazine) once included occasional park discounts and cheap LEGOLAND California tickets, but current issues generally do not carry ticket deals. It’s free, geared toward children ages 5–9, and sent out five times a year until kids turn 10. If there’s a free ticket, it usually takes the same shape as the Kids Go Free ticket in Section 8.
However, I definitely recommend a subscription to anyone interested in LEGOs. The free downloads and activities are neat.
15. Group Discounts for 15 or More
YOU CAN DO BETTER: Sale prices online typically save you more.
If you have 15 or more people, you can buy group tickets online in advance and save up to 10% on LEGOLAND Theme Park plus SEA LIFE Aquarium Hopper tickets. There is also a $10 discount on 1-day LEGOLAND-only admission for groups of 15 or more bought in person, and neither can be combined with another offer. Even so, it is usually cheaper for everyone to buy discounted LEGOLAND California tickets online individually.
Awesome Things to Do at LEGOLAND California Resort
The resort caters to children ages 2–12 and features a theme park, aquarium, seasonal water park, and two super-fun hotels. Here’s a short list of popular things to do:
- Minifigure trading with staff members.
- Brick-or-Treat, LEGOLAND’s Halloween event each fall, with trick-or-treating, monster characters, costumes, and a show lineup.
- Christmas Bricktacular, the holiday event on select dates from late November to early January, with fireworks, shows, and photos with LEGO Santa.
- Miniland USA cities and famous buildings built with LEGOs.
- LEGO Festival, a late-summer celebration with character meet-and-greets and themed family activities.
- Red, White & BOOM!, the park’s Fourth of July celebration with fireworks and themed entertainment.
- Kids’ New Year’s Eve on December 31, with an early countdown and fireworks.
- Scavenger hunt at King’s Market in Castle Hill (where The Dragon roller coaster is located).
- Grannie’s Apple Fries with cinnamon dust, caramel, and whipped cream topping.
- LEGO Driving School, where kids drive their own cars and earn a “driver’s license.” It’s open in a new location and really cool!
- The seasonal water park.
- The Model Shop is where you can watch Master Builders create awesome things.
- Dino Valley, a themed area with rides and hands-on experiences (I really love the colorful LEGO dinosaurs – they’re impressive).
- LEGO Movie World, where you can meet LEGO Movie characters and enjoy several rides based on the hit movies, like Emmet’s Flying Adventure ride and Unikitty’s Disco Drop. Parents, be prepared for a spin through The Awesome Shop.
- LEGO Galaxy (NEW in 2026): The park’s newest land features Galacticoaster, the first new roller coaster at LEGOLAND California in nearly two decades. This indoor family coaster takes riders on a customizable space adventure. The land also includes two additional cosmic rides, character encounters, a Junior Astronaut Training Zone for toddlers, and themed dining and retail.

How much are LEGOLAND California tickets?
They start at $69 online, against $139 at the gate. That is LEGOLAND’s 1-Day ticket, at one price for ages 2 and up, and it covers the theme park and SEA LIFE Aquarium.
LEGOLAND’s online price moves with your travel date, so price the date you actually want rather than the cheapest one on the calendar.
The Resort Hopper, which adds the Water Park, is sold only on Water Park days, and the Water Park is closed until spring 2027.
Does Costco sell LEGOLAND California tickets?
Not right now. Costco.com does not list a LEGOLAND California ticket as of November 2026.
Costco has carried a 3-Day Resort Hopper covering the theme park, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and the Water Park, item #2040260. These listings come and go, so it is worth a look before you buy elsewhere. Section 13 has more.
Is LEGOLAND fun for adults?
It is designed for children aged 2 to 12, but adults will enjoy the LEGO scenes. Check out mini versions of the Las Vegas Strip, New Orleans, and New York, made entirely from LEGO blocks.
My clients (and I agree based on my own visits) say that visiting LEGOLAND tends to be more tiring than other theme parks because everything is kid-centric (aside from having an adult beverage at some restaurants).
Can you get skip-the-line access at the park?
Yes, with Fastrack. It replaced the old Reserve N Ride system in February 2026 and gives you a barcode to scan at a shorter dedicated queue on select rides, with no app countdown timers or virtual queues.

Can you purchase LEGOs at the park?
Yes! The park features several places to stock up on your kids’ favorite toys. Check out the LEGO® Shop, the Minifigure Market, and The Dive Shop.
Can I go shopping at LEGOLAND California for free?
Yes, with a Shopper Pass. Ask for one at the ticket booth or the outside Guest Services window. It is not offered during special events.
- Pay for parking and buy a full-price 1-day LEGOLAND ticket. You then have one hour inside.
- Spend $25 or more on retail and keep the receipt.
- The outside Guest Services window refunds your ticket and parking, as long as your ticket scanned within the past 60 minutes.
Do I need separate tickets to visit SEA LIFE Aquarium?
Usually not. LEGOLAND’s own 1-Day and 2-Day tickets, its Resort Hopper tickets, and its annual passes all include SEA LIFE Aquarium. LEGOLAND says SEA LIFE comes with select tickets, though, so check your ticket type before you go.
SEA LIFE Aquarium is a massive indoor aquarium featuring more than 5,000 real sea animals, from sharks to rays. Learn about the sea creatures, and don’t miss feeding time. LEGOLAND and SEA LIFE are located right next to each other.
Does my LEGOLAND California ticket include entrance to the water park?
Only if you have a Resort Hopper ticket or a Preferred or Premium annual pass. On any other ticket, including a Standard pass, you pay to add it.
The Water Park is reachable only from inside LEGOLAND, so you can upgrade a LEGOLAND-only ticket at the Admissions window when the Water Park is open for the season.
The Water Park offers all sorts of fun for children, including a wave pool, water slides, and water-play structures. Make a splash in Wipeout Lagoon and float down the lazy river.
